Since this series is in the whole-bunch-of-random-stuff genre, I'm trying to figure out how a recap is feasible. Was there an overarching story that I missed? Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed watching it. It just doesn't really seem like the kind of plot-centric entertainment that I'd expect a recap to summarise.

Since the show went backwards in time showing where humanity is now to where it was (through the eyes of Mediator), I'd like to think a recap would go the other way. Show from Mediators days in a high school dump to chasing fried chickens in a well-functioning town.

Humanity Has Declined also had a two episode special where Watashi is shrunken to fairy size. Also, the 2nd part is pure Black Comedy.

"[A] two episode special"? I don't know if you can call those episodes without adding the word "short" since they're each only a few minutes long. You make it sound like the two that have been released and fansubbed are the only two to be made. There are two so far because only two discs have been released, but the story's hardly finished and I think that there'll be one segment with each of the four remaining Blu-rays. Together, they should add up to about another full episode's worth of content.
I loved the series, and I'm importing it since there's few other ways to show support for the production of more Jintai other than by buying the books... ^_^;

Ingraman, IIRC, Sentai Filmworks licensed Humanity Has Declined. I think they are planning to dub it, too.
I enjoyed the show but I felt it was unfinished as of the last episode. I'd love it to get a second season. I didn't know that they were releasing extra shorts on the JP BDs, but hopefully Sentai will get those, too.
I wonder if Crunchyroll will get the rights to stream the compilation episode.

Two short episode specials.
As a person who dose not keep track of DVD/BR releases in Japan, I wouldn't know there will be more but thanks for the tip. Usually when you see the end of a "short" episode with the main character seemingly getting her head cracked open from a bird one can assume there's nothing left to tell.

Not sure what that's supposed to mean, but ok. I suppose I should be used to you not making any sense by now.

I'm aware of that. Perhaps I'll double-dip if ADV does a BD release, but my importing the series will get more money to the Japanese production group than if I buy ADV's future release. The Japanese sales are more likely to influence the production of more of the adventures of Watashi, than the handful of copies that ADV will likely sell. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ADV, though.

You contradict yourself there - you're "not sure what that's supposed to mean", implying it makes sense (but you don't follow), but they Fencedude5609 is apparently "not making sense", implying it doesn't.
At any rate - and correct me if I'm wrong - but I think Fencedude is saying that it being Jintai explains that the "end" may not indeed be the conclusion to the tale. Making such a clear inference, the burden falls on you to think about what quality of Jintai's would explain this; and the answer, that Jintai is random and its humorous and odd moments are not to be taken seriously, readily suggests itself.

So long story short: I should not assume that the story is over.

I assume its a term from Japanese that has some relevance to the discussion.
Someone using the term in a general discussion forum without explaining what it means clearly is not all that concerned about whether anyone outside a particular clique understands what they are saying.

Jintai is the abbreviated term for "Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita", the title of the show.
He's basically saying "It's Jintai" or "It's Humanity Has Declined".

I really hope they make a season 2 in the future. I thought the series was awesome (except for the time travel episodes, those were redundant and boring) and will be buying if there will be a Blu-ray release.
