Ah, so this was the work that Katabuchi and Madhouse announced they were working on awhile back. It's great to see the "master of dissimilar styles" back at work on a children's film, as Princess Arete was very good. Black Lagoon was a complete 180, but it showed that he had great skill at making polar opposite works. The trailer looks nice and it seems like the film has a Ghibli/TokiKake/European feel to it, with a dash of Arete. Since it has a subtitled trailer, perhaps they are either looking for a limited stateside or international release, or even an Academy Award run?
[Note to ANN: The article misspelled Katabuchi's name in the second paragraph as "Katabichi".] |

I'm wondering what happened to this Black Lagoon Third Anime Project. So long since this mysterious announcement.

This sounds like an interesting feature. I would definitely love to see it. There are a lot of good features that have been coming out during the past couple of years and no one is really taking notice. Again industry issues of course. But we did get a chance to see 'The Girl that leapt through time'. Didn't know that 'Black Lagoon' director had a very diverse background in the industry. Hell, 'Madhouse' is an awesome animation studio.
