Tempted. The release I currently have isn't the nicest looking set (Them Fatpacks).
If it has subs and/or dubs (while unlikely) I might actually pick up, ESPECIALLY if the OVA would be subbed.
Though I'd also be surprised if it wasn't subbed or dubbed, because didn't it tank in Japan but do incredibly well out here?

i highly doubt it.
what some fans really want is a US release of the mangas. it's wayy too long overdue. Kodomo no Jikan i can get and the reason why some manga companies here in the US will avoid it like a plauge, but i am preety sure elfen lied is not like kodomo no jikan at all.

True, it's not as good. Oh right, if you meant in objectualizing young girls in sexual situations, Kodomo no Jikan has nothing on Elfen Lied.
This really goes beyond the ralm of "nostalgia" repacking; An incomplete short adaptation that wasn't too popular to begin with gets a BD version in the wrong country?
I wonder what the odds are they'll include the dub, you know, since the BD regions are the same? Actually get it to work in Japan's favor for a change.
I'm actually more interested in the bonus manga chapter than the release myself but I'm sure there are people out there who are Blu-ray overdependent.

Remember that pre-Higurashi world where Elfen Lied was like the biggest baddest thing ever? Seems like a really long time ago now.

I still consider Elfen Lied to have a higher shock value and "badass level" than Higurashi. Maybe it's because the restarts of Higurashi soften it up a little.
As for this release, although I didn't enjoy Elfen Lied enough to import it, that is a pretty nice price point.

Hey Everyone,
Well, here's another Elfin Lied rant, courtesy of an old grouch. Ignore it if you have better things to do, which is almost certainly the case.
Today's Elfin Lied rant:
But what does "Exclusive Manga" mean, exactly? If it's only a sampler or trailer for the complete manga series, it would be nothing more than advertising that we have to buy.
Certainly if it doesn't do something about the Anime series non-ending (and it was one of the poorest Anime endings) it won't be worth the purchase price of the entire package.
Worst of all, it could extend the series' non-ending to finish in yet another ambiguous, vaporous attempt at meaning.
There's someone at the door...
Really? Really? Gee, who could it be? Do the writers even know?
Stupid.

I'm kind of betting that the exclusive manga could be a one shot or a bonus chapter. It could be some continuation of where the manga ended, but then again that's too strange for putting that in the box . that and the manga ending is 20x more sadder than its anime counterpart

Yeah, Kodomo no Jikan's manga is good and doesn't have the shittiest art ever in a professional manga.

Nice price. Even with shipping it'll probably cost less than the US Bakemonogatari release if purchased on Amazon Japan. I wish didn't already own the series and still felt it was ultra awesome.
