I can't tell whether or not if Chris Dodd is telling the truth about the SOPA and PIPA bills being dead or not.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if it is true or not.

As we have seen its obvious they dont need any laws to do what the want anywhere in the world, it was a good way to legitimate their unscrupulous illegal actions however.

Of course they dont care about SOPA/PIPA anymore, they have in the TPP and gone a step further in criminalization and punishment, they are trying to pass the law as a supposed economic trade agreement now!

I think CISPA is still cooking...not sure yet, had to check to see whats going on with this one.

@vgiannell5

This **** is telling the truth, those laws are dead because they have taken in a new name now.

Of course they're not coming back, but revisions of them under other names certainly will. Semantics.

Remember, these bills are like a zombie:

They'll keep trying to bring it. Be it being very vague or hiding it in another bill all together. I still shudder that they tried an idea to put this bill in a child porn law to make it harder to fight against it.

It's always tough to fight things like that, because politicians are afraid of what their opponents will do come reelection time. It would have been so easy for campaign attack ads to change the facts without actually changing the facts. A vote against a law like that could be construed as, "Such-and-Such voted down legislation that would have protected our children." It's a very slimy tactic, and one that makes this sort of thing extremely difficult to fight. As for the trade bills, that's not much easier to fight considering these pieces of 'legislation' weren't even voted on. That makes them entirely unfair, and arguably a stretch of everyone's powers who were involved.
