So I started reading this manga and there are some things I don't understand. How is Strauss around 3000 years old when it says that he became vampire king at 200 and he reigned for about 10 years before he abandoned his kingdom 1000 years ago? All this adds up to him being about 1210 years old. Can anyone explain this to me.

I think Strauss has been searching for Adelheid a lot longer than 1000 years. It just seems the phrase "1000 years" was coined as a nice, even estimate. Also, based on the clothing and mannerisms in the backstory, it seems to be set perhaps in the middle ages, arond 3-500 a.d., instead of the 1000 a.d. which is presumed.This also supports the "search" thoery. Of course, we could also assume that Strass's age is also an estimate, and actually on page 36 of chap. 17, Strauss said he'd lived almost 3000 years.Plus, this story could be set slightly in the future for all we know. And since this is a fantasy story, I doubt the authors really cared about keeping a strict timeline. Maybe they even moved the b.c./a.d line around, which could set the entire timeline back a few centuries... Thus, all those little factors combined, could explain Rosered Strauss's age. Hope this helped
