I suppose this new episode is the beginning of the supposed "Second season" everyone's been hyping up about falsely for 3 years straight?

You know, at this point I really don't care. How often have they jerked the fan's chain around? Seriously, Kadokawa (or whoever is responsible) go ___ yourself (Arcana).

I wonder how Bandai will handle this when/if the new season is licensed.

Well ain't that funny.
I'll be waiting until said episode airs accompanied with the confirmation before I start jumping for joy, though.

My gut says this is a mistake on TV Wakyama's part somehow, but darn do I hope it's not.

DUN DUN DUNNNNNN
And then there were festivities with dancing and singing and feasting with the roasting of dark sides of meat and the drinking of heady wines that lasted for nine days and nine nights!

By now, this just kind of pisses me off. It's not clever at this point, it's just insulting that they'd tease the fans like this.

At worst it means the episode exists but was meant to be shown at a different time. The TV channel shouldn't even know about "Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody" or at the very least it wouldn't mean very much to them if no such episode existed.

What exactly is this revised reaired version? The episode order is stuffed up enough as it is without there being yet another way of watching the series, now with new episodes inserted between old ones…

This would be, if it pans out, true, as the novels go, chronological order. It's the same as S1s DVD release just with Mikuru's Adventures put in its proper place.
And so far the reairing has just been the DVD versions animation wise. (Not in HD)
