Seconded. Project Eden is one nifty flick; doesn't ADV currently have the rights to it? Or am I just being overly hopeful?

A while back ADV Films purchased the rights to the film as well as Streamline's two Dirty Pair OVA's, "Affair on Nolandia" and "Flight 005 Conspiracy", but as of yet no official announcement regarding a DVD release has been made. It may not be too far off; ADV has just released their first former-Streamline title, "Doomed Megalopolis", with the old dub intact. If they're smart they'll stick with Project Eden's dub as well.

Excellent article indeed, Mike. ;

Any hope of reviewing either one of the Unico films that Columbia Pictures released domestically on VHS (dub only, though everything was dub only in that era) in the mid-80s? I believe those two were the first full-length anime features I had ever seen (either that or Warriors of the Wind a.k.a. hacked n' slashed Nausicaa, not that I knew it was editied at the time). Someone asked me about Unico on the RottenTomatoes.com forum (where I'm Kiyone) the other day, or, rather, he asked about the anime film where the witch turned people into blocks.
EDIT: AAGH! Girly-eyed "Cherry"!

Gosh, I haven't seen Unico since I was in third grade. I still remember totally ripping off that movie's plot for my "creative writing" project! If I can get a hold of of 'em I'll definately cover it in a future installment.
Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. I was afraid the anime veterans wouldn't want to read about old stuff (mostly concieved the column with newbies in mind), glad to hear that's not necessarily the case.

This is one of my favorite movies. My well-worn fansubbed copy is great. I would rather have my ears poked out than listen to a dub. Thank goodness Manga entertainment does not have the rights, since my ears burn after watching Devilman dvd...
