......LOL.
Well. I guess it has an audience. Only good part about Lucky Star was Lucky Channel and Konato's dad. |

I've just finished LS and it was really hard to watch If only the whole show was more like Lucky Channel, it would have had more fans, I think! LS wasn't B-A-D, just really slow - it never had me laughing, maybe a snigger here and there but that's about it...
I suppose LS had fans after all......good for them, but it's not like these cards will ever be available outside Japan anytime soon |

I wish that they could have waited at least a year. That way I'm done with school and I'm in Japan with a Japanese address, and I can apply for a Japanese credit card then. I would want Kagami and Konata on mine.

Or never because Americans just dont appreciate Lucky Star enough. Same goes for Haruhi which is quite sad. |

Good luck getting one if you just got out of school. Getting approved for a credit card is tough. You have to be a permanent resident with a steady job, OR have a 3-year work visa with a significant monthly income before they'll issue one to you. I've been rejected like 3 times just because my Visa expired in a year, even though I made a lot more money than the average person who just graduated from college. Now that I changed my Visa type I should probably try again, but still, it's not easy for even Japanese people to get a Japanese credit card. |

Unlike the US where credit card companies try to sign up every poor starving collegiate on campus. (Then again, Japan is still mainly a paper economy where 24-hr ATM is still a novel concept.) |

Of which I would rather have than the other part of how we pay for things, CHECKS. I hate checks, hate having to take them at my work and hate having to write them at all. Which is also why I love cards, because you just pay for everything electronically online, get a confirmation, and move on with your life. |

doesn't Capital One allow to choose your own design on your credit card?

Yeah I hardly use checks nowadays too. But at the same time, you don't really want your boss paying you in paper cash every 2 weeks. Or worse, a robber stealing yours (and other employees') pay after waiting on your boss habitually withdrawing cash from the bank/ATM to carry all that wad in a bag to work (like what still happens in Japan from time to time). |

There comes the problem of copyright, you cant just put any image on it. |

Which is why I am sure that is is written in bold letters, no copyrighted images. I am sure they don't want a huge lawsuit, so I am sure its written somewhere. As for the Lucky Star card, as nice as it looks, isn't it just another credit card? Now if the card was made out of titanium, it would be another story. |

True, but the situation in Japan is a bit different from over here. We do have direct deposit options as well. Japan is just a cash country. And not everybody is looking to take any bills lying on the ground for their own when they get the chance. If it's a big bill, most of the time they're going to turn that in to a koban. |
