Shame they're not getting the best One Piece move, #6.

Really only seeing Sankarea and Aquarion EVOL here that are of interest, Maken-Ki is mediocre for fanservice series, I did like Himegami but the others were not interesting.

I hope FUNi puts out their own Akira blu-ray for a reasonable price. The only time I've ever seen a copy of Bandai's Akira blu-ray, it cost somewhere in the ballpark of $60.

I was hoping they would come up with a better title than "War on Geminar"... since I cannot ever remember them mentioning the planets name in the series itself... Was Saint Knight's Tale so bad? "Tenchi Muyo: Tale of the Sainted Knight" or "Tenchi Muyo: Tale of the Sacred Warrior" Would have worked well... 'because I know 'brother from another planet', just wouldn't have flown...
I know this stuff is decided by different committees, some of which are in Japan, and sometimes the licensor doesn't get a say at all... but I'm thinkin' Funi should give some gentle pushback on this sort of thing. "War on Geminar" just doesn't have the depth of this sort of series, and certainly for people who will plunk down significant amount of cash on a BluRay set, it might seem kinda cheesy.

But? Since I've been hoping that it would be licensed, who am I to blow against the wind?
Also? I like this part:
" FUNimation is pleased to announce the acquisition of streaming, home entertainment, theatrical and merchandise rights to the complete Tenchi Muyo! franchise."

I am hoping this will mean that they will re-release the original Tenchi Muyo OVA sets... since I've never found a replacement for my disc 3 that I could afford. And perhaps if they do some streaming it'll bring more interest in the whole thing. For those who like this sort of humor anyway. I know some people can't stand the shows, but the humor makes me forget everyday troubles, and I can't ask for more than that.

all I want is the original OVAs on bluray
remastered would be nice

very lackluster announcement to say the least, all of that was known

I gave up on Tenchi Muyo after they wasted the money on GPX and didn't have enough to finish the 3rd OVA properly and then dropping the 4th altogether. Kajishima could have been great had his indecisiveness didn't get the better of him. So sad. You could have been a contender, you could have been somebody!

That new Yamato series looks good.

I don't think I've bought anything from Funimation in at least a couple of years. I watched some of Mine Fujiko when it streamed and will probably finish it some day, but it's not worth purchasing to me. Otherwise we have the usual array of shows with "perverted teenagers" to quote the press release and, I guess, a bunch of fighting. I suppose these shows must sell to someone; that someone just isn't me.

The last I show I bought that Funimation streamed was House of Five Leaves, and it was released by NISA!

Didn't Funi already have the physical disc rights for Mine Fujiko, or is that what they were announcing here?
