Nice things just keep on happening for this girl. I wonder how many conventions will try to snag her for cheap this next Summer... Don't sell yourself short!

Is it just me or is the entire article (including the pic) written out twice on the page?
Editorial gripes aside, like pretty much all game anime I'm approaching this one with reserved enthusiasm. I kinda wished they kept the "watercolour in motion" visual style of the game intact, though I guess that would have been way too difficult to pull off for a regular TV series without using Sega's Canvas engine.

Cool, maybe this'll have an interesting new sound, then. Also, I'm finding the character designs very appealing so far (despite the "puffyness" on those uniforms); hopefully they'll translate well into motion.

Forgot to mention, I'm having that problem as well.

Why is she adopting a Japanese stage name? It strikes me at a bit racist. I mean, I know the same thing happens the other way around but neither is right. I dunno, something about that doesn't sit well with me.

It's been her internet handle ever since she started singing as an amateur.

I just hope the people who were in charge of Catherine a.k.a. HIMEKA during the creation of the song made justice to her voice. As for her stage name, as Mysticmidnightmaiden said, she's had for a long time now, so it's probably not the hardest thing that Catherine had to go through to attain her goal in the singing industry. She herself gave limits that you could go find out yourself on her blog. Google himeka and you should find it.
Je te souhaite toute la magie scintillante du monde!!!! (to the one and only)
More on topic, I'll be sure to listen to the opening, as for the anime, I'll give it a try, not being a big war lover, unless there is a good character development.

There will be AWESOME character development.
This just might be the best video game-to-anime property ever.

Ah I see. I suppose I should be glad she has a nice internet handle and not something long and unwieldy with numbers in it. I'm looking forward to this anime, I've just started playing Valkyria Chronicles it's a very good game. I just wish I wasn't still stuck fighting the Batomys.

I Agree. Cause if this will be anything like Sakura War franchise, then the war torn era will just be an exciting environment for some of the deepest character developments, which has been a hallmark for almost all Sakura War series(I'll admit that Sakura Taisen 4 is nothing more than just plain fan service).
This global collaboration is a good change(apparently somebody here isn't a fan of the word "dynamic", so I had to take respective measure even though there's nothing wrong with the word itself to be applied in this situation), the respective creative energies from both sides of the Pacific are somethings to be seriously considered. I just hope whatever the end result would be, will have the proper respect it deserves from the anime subcultural community.

[OT here] It is an amazing game. It just saddens me to see that sales figures are very low despite it being one of the best strategy games of 2008. Yeah, the Batomys is pretty hard if you are starting a new game. It took me about four hours over the course of two days to beat that level. I am looking forward to some DLC packages in the near future for the US. In one package, you play as the Empire and Selvaria Bles as they invade Gallia.

It would be pretty hard to do that considering the Canvas engine is computer code. Still, it would be look amazing if they found a way to look like that.
The game is amazing and I just hope the anime will do it justice. The story is pretty much a cliché in anime terms. They even have the military archtype characters. Still, I enjoyed the game for what it offered. I look forward to seeing how the anime will turn out in the near future.

You do realize that any convention who tries to have her has to pay for the traveling fee, the hotel room as well as the living expenses? That's already quite something. Beside, she'll be really busy this summer, so I wonder if she'll go anywhere. Anyway, there's stuff I can't talk about happening in the background though, so we'll see.

The guy producing the song has no experience whatsoever in producing. He also only has experience with pop music. I seriously won't expect much from this. However, the second song on her single should be produced by someone else, so I'd say we should look forward to it.

Congratulations Canada. I have a similar thing to share: Kylee Saunders, the 14-year-old who sings Bonen no Xamdou's ED "Vacancy". hails from Arizona like me. Let's see: Xam'd aired in U.S. 2 months before it would hit Japan. The nice rarity here (other than seeing the first season of an anime before it airs in Japan) is the theme song is done by an Arizonan. That means one of my fave anime in recent years has an ending by someone representing Arizona.

Interesting.

Kind of sad to hear this, especially after knowing that Catherine had won this chance from competing against so many people. It would have been nice if they would have associated her with someone who had at least made a small name of themselves in the anime business. Though as you said, we should look forward to the other people who will be in charge of her next time ^^
