If so, this will be the first DC manga I'll be collecting. Mature label added so hopefully nothing's edited.

Oh yea, is it me or does this chick on the cover look a lot like a guy (and the guy kinda look liek a chick)

Yeah, CMX announced this a while back. The spelling "Tenjho Tenge" was requested as per the manga-ka.

Looks like they changed the cover a bit to edit out the panty shot. I never got to the part where it supposidly gets good (volume 7 from what I hear), so I'll hold out on picking it up until then.
And if that's not a dude I don't know who is.

Looks like they edited the original cover and cut out Aya's panties from the original Japanese cover. From the looks of the cover, DC has butchered the manga I bet. I know I won't get this crap. At least there are the fan translations and the original Japanese manga to make up the mess DC made.

Well the purpose of the scanlation was to promote the manga, so skipping the licensed manga and jus going for the scanlation just totally kill the whole purpose of scanlation. But yea, everyone can read the scanlation for free.

And how many people here actually read the japanese manga and understand it? about 2 or 3 out of 100 or so.

editing the cover doesnt mean the manga it self will be edited Confused and TBH, i can understand why they edited a panty shot on the cover

Actully, that may not end up been used anyway, theres no logo or anything on there yet

Butchered the manga? Have you actually read it, or anything from DC? DC tends to care alot more about its products than most manga companys do about their manga. Since I have yet to read their manga line (from what I've seen, the matterials are fairly poor though, so that isn't a good sign), I can't make a judgement, but I have faith in them and doubt they edited anything. And really, it's just a panty shot on the cover; that shouldn't be the reason why you buy the manga.

Yes. I used to get plenty of titles from DC, and they were entertaining. Aslo, I currently own Volume 1 - 10 Japanese manga of Tenjou Tenge and the Japanese anime DVD's. What DC is doing is showing disrespect to the artist OH Great! by cutting his art like that. DC seems willing to do some risque cover for some of their other comics, but they're willing to cut Oh Great!'s art is outrageous. If DC is willing to do that I just know they'll really start editing and censoring the manga.

Changing the cover is great disrespect you say? Thats been done many times before by many diffrent companys. As Liann pointed out, it seems that they have communicated with him about the release, and if he really was offended I'm sure that he would have told them about it. The cover of a product shouldn't matter. Should Darkhorse keep the cover of Berserk volume 13, which will probobly severly limit the locations that they could sell it and really cut into profits, just so it can be exacally like the Japanese edition? They aren't changing the content, and that's all that really matters.

Wow, they need a different rating system. They actualy gave something like Gals! a mature rating, cutting it off from it's intended audience. If they used the usual rating system then I'm sure that more people can be reached. For anyone who doesn't know how they rate titles-
nothing= Everyone
Mature Readers= anything more than a little inapropriate by american standards.

Yup, cutting a cover doesn't mean anything.
Wait until someone has read the volume before you judge whether the content will be editing.
Infact, cutting a blaytant panty shot from the front page is a good idea. Remember this cover is going to be on public display. In America. Soccer moms, anyone?
"OMFG, THERE'S PANTIES ON THIS COMIK!!! I MUST SUE THE PEOPLE WHO MADE IT FOR DAMAGING MY CHILDREN'S EYES!!!"
Now, I think you'll see that chaging the cover is a good thing. Now they'll only sue everyone if they're stupid enough to let their 10 year old buy it without checking it out first, haha.
