If I had the skills, I would draw Himari and Ringo from Mawaru Penguindrum making the arrest. Still, kudos to those who made the actual arrest.

Yeah heard about this on Twitter, but I didn't know the last suspect was arrested near a manga cafe, that was the ironic part. Well nice to see ANN report on this (and so do Kotaku).

Did they question Oshii after those attacks because of the similarities to what occurs in spoiler[Patlabor 2]?

Sogo Ishii's live action film Angel Dust is even more similar, to the point of being chilling. Get this - not only was it released one year before the attacks, but it's about a cult that's committing murders in Tokyo's subway system. Sound familiar?

I doubt the similarities, given the events between the two.

I believe one of the ANNcast has mention about that, I forgot which ANNcast said that. But the authorities did question Oshii about the connection between Patlabor 2 and the subway attack.

Actually, the most similar JP movie to those AUM attacks would have to be from Stink Bomb from Memories.

Though in retrospect, you also can't watch Miyako from the Akira anime movie without thinking of the AUM.

Memories wasn't released theatrically in Japan until after the AUM attacks though.
