Thats why I like the House of 1000 Manga articles. You never know which series or author will be featured next.

Anyway, to be honest, I was never crazy about Megamix, but I really enjoyed Gigamix. If Ariga does a third mix series, I hope Udon gets that too.

Man, this article reminds me that I should have to really start buying Udon's manga releases, especially Megamix & Gigamix. Ariga's artwork definitely is a great fit for Mega Man, & even looking at a couple of pages of either manga when I saw them at a B&N a few months back I could tell that this might look really good.

Damn you, Jason, don't make me spend money immediately after reading one of your articles!

I really enjoyed this article,(as I do all of House of 1000 Manga, it's my favorite next to Anime News Nina). Hitoshi Ariga does some very good, and if I had the time and money, I would check out his works. It's interesting to know that he really likes what he does. I mean, from what Jason says, Ariga loves Mega Man, and it shows in his work. I think that is a good thing. It seems like there are artists who have no interest in what they're drawing. When you love something, you put more effort into it.

In the backgrounds of his comics, he sometimes draws robots submitted by fans on his website, totally in keeping with the Mega Man spirit (since CAPCOM has frequently solicited character designs from fans for the games).

This is true. IMO the best Shonen Jump artist (Yusuke Murata) got his start designing Dust Man and Crystal Man when he was 12.

I've got all of Ariga's Big O manga (I tell you volume 4 was nearly impossible to find back then) and I have all of Megamix too. I also watch his account on DA. I plan to get Gigamix when I finish all the manga that I have on the back burner. Can you tell I'm a fan of his (nothing short of my also being a huge fan of Megaman and Big O)? XD

Good article. Haven't read any of his comics, but I looked his Deviant Art. Great stuff, and it's cool to see that he's a Teen Titans fan. Razz

I love Ariga's work myself, The MegaMan Mix Mangas are GREAT! And i've been slowly hunting down the Big-O Manga adaption and i've enjoyed what i've read so far.

Can't wait for Udon to get MegaMan Maniax out!
