Do you know about this? Above is a link to the KANO SISTERS new Production IG animated show, ABUNAI SISTERS. IG produced Blood: The Last Vampire and Mamoru Oshii's last film. There's no IMDB page for this project yet, but probably will be soon. The Kano Sisters star as ABUNAI (Danger) SISTERS. It's a slightly adult anime, but doesn't seem to cross the adult line. Still, it's titillating. On the Kano Sister's official page, which has more video and release info http://kanosisters.net/ it explains in vast detail a very complicated sales / marketing program that involves a varying price depending upon how many orders there are. So how much is this DVD? The super-deluxe edition is $350!, which I believe has has already SOLD OUT! Apparently Japan's answer to Paris Hilton (if Paris was a twin pair of call girls!) generates some interest with the expendable income set. Currently, the stripped down (no pun intended) version is listing at $65, and selling well. You have to see this to believe it. Whether or not there is value in this is purely in the eye of the beholder, but from a marketing POV, it's fascinating. A sliding scale dependent upon market interest that rewards early buyers with extended bonuses at a premium price. I wonder if this idea will catch on... |
