I'd prefer to not have to pay $40 for a single volume of manga.

Your best bet at this point is probably 2nd hand bookstores or the bargain bins of comic stores. You might get lucky on eBay as well.

Last summer when I picked up HxH to read again, I found it quite difficult to locate several volumes for a reasonable price. Vol. 14 ended up costing me the most at $40 even then. I somewhat kick myself for spending the money because I ended up finding it at a local used shop for $8 about 3 weeks later. That said, I haven't seen another used copy of vol. 14 locally in the nine months since, so I don't overly regret the decision.
The only other suggestion I can offer is to try and grab a run of HxH off ebay that includes vol. 14. Sometimes that's the best way to spread out the cost of a single high volume. |
