So there have been a lot of good series announced recently
and I was wondering whats the average time between Announcing and actual releasing of the anime.Or is it to random between shows.

I would guess 1-2 years, but I wouldn't know for sure unless I looked up 10-15 recent shows in the Encyclopedia and averaged their time intervals between announcement and release. But if you want to know, nothing's stopping you from doing the same, rather than asking other people to do the work for you.

Zalis is indeed correct. You can check the ANN database for vintage/release dates, and Wikipedia usually tells you the original air dates and when the anime was distributed Stateside.

It seems to vary. If it's a rerelease or a thinpack version of previously dubbed and subbed material, they can come out quite quickly indeed. If you're talking about a title that hasn't been dubbed yet, that will obviously take a few months longer even if the stars are aligned and all the voice talent the directors want don't have previous commitments and are available as soon as casting is in place. Then, you also have licensed material like Honey and Clover which seem to have entered a black hole. From what I've seen, as a general guideline you'll usually see the release of the first volume within a year of announcement, but even that isn't written in stone.

I don't think he was actually. I think he was being more general in his use of the term "average".

Well I didn't do any research look up any data for this.
However based on another thread you started I assume this question was asked because your curious about how long it will be before Funi's new annoucements are released.
(sorry if my assumption is wrong)
That said, since these are all just rescues and all the dubbing and work is already done (as far as I'm aware) and Funi just has to repackage these in thinpacks. . . I suspect we may start seeing some of these in mid 09. Of course this is just pure speculation from someone who has only just started collecting anime.
LOL I could be way off base.
