You can't seriously tell me that the characters look natural. Although the show is for everyone it looks like a little kids show. Again for the people that didn't like the show in general I think they should watch it more. But I think people were a little reminded of when Toonami started showing Hamtaro. (Hamtaro + Action Line up = ....does not compute.) |

Wow, Milk-Chan on CN. Here I thought CN gave up on ADV. Atleast I have something to foward to when I get back to the States, but I too will miss Conan. Didn't see much of it, but I did enjoy it. I do hope the DVDs do get washed and wax in the DVDs to come.

I think CN has noticed this too, which may be why in recent months, they seem to be phasing out the idea of "Adult Swim Action" and replacing it with "Adult Swim Anime," so they can give us different genres of shows. This may be directly in responce to Conan's success, since it's pretty short on action (unless you count all those horrific stabbings.) Anyway, YAY for more Conan! I think you're right about the art style being off-putting to some people, though I'm rather fond of it-it looks like Aoyama took an art style heavily influenced by Tezuka (Inspector Megure/Magiure always reminds me of Shinasku Ban...) and then added lots of sharp angles (as opposed to Tezuka's tendancy to make his characters more round-looking) to come up with his distinctive style. I think Adult Swim is counting on the fact that the uncut dub of Milk-Chan is full of cultural gags that make no sense to 99% of Americans. This means it'll fit right in with the other AS comedy shows-when was the last time you saw an episode of Sealab that made sense? If ADV was going to put a comedy show on,though, I'd have much rather they'd given us Azumanga or Excel... |

"The Super Milk-Chan Show premieres Sunday, November 7, at 12:30 a.m. to begin its Sunday night run. Adult Swim will not be airing the Americanized version, but rather the straight dub of the Japanese version" - Swim Bubba {http://boards.adultswim.com/adultswim/board/message?board.id=7&message.id=48&jump=true}
So it will not be replace ANY of the [AS] Animes. as the Rumor to Case closed being cancled was probibly a miss understand. what was probley said that [AS} will not be getting new episodes for the FALL line up |
