I used to be a Lucci fan years ago, before he got replaced by other characters. This reminded me how cool he is.

It's been a while since I read the chapter(s), but is this where the fight ended in the manga? I thought spoiler[we saw the fight finished], but maybe I'm thinking of another.

No, you’re right, but we won’t be seeing that for a few more episodes, unless they rearrange scenes.

i think this ep did just that. considering that the revelation that one of the five elders is heading to eggland island should have occured after spoiler[ the revelation of vivi and wapol being hidden by big news morgan ] says that they are indeed making that call to re arrange certain scenes!

I remember back in the day people were saying the quality would fall off once Wano ended.

They couldn’t be more wrong. Egghead’s animation and aesthetic has been blowing me away.

Very curious how they’ll adapt the Kidd/Shanks fight. Kinda feel like Tori’s usual tactics won’t work well for this one.

indeed. there was also the possibility of this fight arc as well as spoiler[ the coby rescue arc and the law vs blackbeard arc ] would have been skipped over until at least until the end of egghead arc!

well lets just see what happens!

The latest episode was glorious. If it’s any consolation to Kidd fans, I think the animators did a good job showing how powerful he is despite ultimately losing.

I don’t know he did a better job of tanking shots from Big Mom as opposed to getting leveled by an attack that Oden shrugged off better.

Shanks is kinda cool. In the past he only seemed interested in betting on the next generation, but now we finally see him caring about finding the One Piece and crushing those who get in his way or threaten his territory. Plus you gotta give him some big moments before he either becomes Luffy's enemy or gets beaten by Blackbeard... or both!

I understand people not liking Kid getting one shotted. Back in Wano the guy was tanking Big Mom's strongest attacks. But at the same time, I couldn't care less about Kid, and if anything, I found him annoying, so thank you, Shanks! Laughing

Just wish Oda didn't give him a fleet of weaklings. It's trying too hard to make him look cool when it really wasn't needed. Also, Dorry and Broggy being in Elbaf is lame.

That's completely ignoring the context of the attack against Oden. The attack against Oden was not intended to kill/defeat him. While Shanks attack was clearly intended to fully defeat Kidd.

Both Roger and Shanks literally started both encounters with the same exact move. So I’m not sure of the logic of Roger not intending to “defeat” Oden. Not to mention Oden by that point had already been established as a freak of nature which was likely why he could take the attack without being knocked out unlike Kidd.

I believe it’s established that one of the reasons crews like the Red Haired Pirates have weaker crews under them is for those weaker crews’ own protection from other larger pirate crews the other reason is to potentially be used as fodder.

And spoiler[given everything that’s set to go down after Egghead] is over that makes perfectly good sense. Also what’s wrong with Dorry and Britt being in Elbaf?

That's my problem. Giving him a fleet of weaklings makes him too much of a good guy. In more vulgar terms, I'm not a fan of the Shanks wank Laughing Seeing him protecting his territory is cool. Seeing his fleet being a bunch of weaklings who throw themselves at him and shower him with praise for how nice he is is a little cringeworthy.

The point of Dorry and Broggy's characters was that they left everything behind to stay in a remote island and duel to the death for the sake of their tradition and honor. Seeing them in Elbaf defeats the point of Little Garden.

i have a feeling that the reason for that might be more simpler.

oimon and kashin!

i can easily see those two gathering up the survivors of their crew and convincing those two to come home!

and the fact that shanks was the one giving them orders could also be a hint that he might had a hand in them settling their differences as well.

though the real question is for next week! with it being obviously focused on coby, and blackbeard currently have his ship hear eggland, its gonna be nothing short of bat shit chaotic next episode!

the question is how bat shit chaotic it will be!?

They spent 100 years of their life in a secluded island fighting to the death. The point was that nothing you said to them could convince them to stop their fighting and leave. No matter how much they cared about each other or how much they missed their home, they were freakishly committed to their code. It was their whole thing, and that's what made them cool.

...except we saw on Little Garden that the Straw Hats showing up ended their duel. Their weapons shattered and everything. That was kind of the whole point of the end of that arc. It makes perfect sense for them to have moved on and returned home.

This is them resuming their duel at the end of the arc. This is them still going at it post-timeskip.
