This is pretty sweet news for me personally, but here's hoping news sites will continue to hype this feature up to convince Nintendo into changing their minds about region locking their systems! (Really, I wonder how much did publishers on the PS3 and PSP loose on them being region free? Did they even loose money or did they actually get marginal increases from importers?)

I like how my DSlite is region free, why did Nintendo have to change it for the DSi and 3DS? Really, what is the point of region locks anyways? This wouldn't bother me if all the games I liked actually got localized. Props to Sony for staying region free so I can play unlocalized games

Considering the recent major f***ups Sony has inflicted on their MMORPG customers, they had to pull this rabbit out of their hat to make up for it. Just proves Region locking was always a stupid marketing ploy that has failed from day one and needs to die. If a company wants to be a global player, they shouldn't be so bloody anal where their profits come from globally as long as they get it. I hope this is just the beginning of it's total eradication.

I believe 3DS is region free with DS games. But 3DS games are still region locked.
I'm playing a European imported game 'Last Window' on my 3DS.
PSP games for the most part (99%) are region free.

For the most part? Which UMD game is region-locked?
Edit: Looking it over, it's 1 single game - BattleZone ...
