I was thrown at first because this is just so far outside Doga Kobo's usual wheelhouse, but people familiar with the lead staff seem to be thrilled:

Kevin Cirugeda on Twitter wrote:
Hiramaki is maybe the most technically proficient director at the studio, very good at conveying three-dimensional space and with experience with stages. Nekotomi has a wild imagination and is ace at special sequences like the Shikimori OP. And kappe is a detail animation monster

Also, I notice all the glowsticks in the key visual are red, as is right and proper -- the manga establishes it as Ai's color. B-Komachi has half a dozen other members, but the whole crowd is there for her. Good attention to detail!

Not sure if I will watch an anime adaptation of Oshi no Ko because I'm frustrated with the manga due to lack of Ruby's screentime, hence she gets Sakura treatment constantly despite that she's supposed to be a female MC along with her brother Aqua. It's Aqua, Kana and Akane show.

And Doga Kobo will animated it and that's not good, because Doga Kobo never make sequels of their produced animes.

New Game and Umaru-chan's 2nd seasons were only a few years ago.

Wataten is also getting a sequel, even if it's in the form of a movie.

The most I know about this is it's from the same author as Kaguya-sama (and I Love Kaguya-sama, though I've heard that Aka focusing on this lead to less than stellar material for Kaguya-sama) so I'll probably check this out.

Doga Kobo is unexpected, but I know they can do idol performances.
