While I too think that any pre-existing English song would be a long shot, there is another "Hero" out there that I think would suit a superhero show much better than either of those two.

How so? His designs looks exactly like the manga art. |
1 - That's kind of the whole point.
2 - Umakoshi has worked on some massive anime, as animator/designer/ etc. Having him involved means having someone whose worked on FullMetal Alchemist involved
