And it's funny because now it's at 51 dubs and 2 subs.
If there's a spammer, he probably caught track of this hidden away conversation.
But I'd say we should give it some time and see if he will go through the trouble of creating like 100 accounts. It's gonna be well funny.

But yeah... unfortunately something gotta be done sooner or later.
I don't wanna see that anime so badly ranked either.

My question to ANN staff: "is there any way to fight against spammers?" I mean this is just ridiculous.

Agreed, but I'm afraid that only Dan can deal with technical details like this. Sad

Those are 51 dubs in the same (i.e. English) language, unlike the previous case in which one user submitted "worst ever" using each and every language dub/sub option available, so it looks like someone(s) created at least 51 accounts just to spam the rating. Mad

I thought the rating system discounted votes from users who only vote worst and/or best? IIRC the votes still show but they don't affect the graphy thingies.

--edit--
I was thinking of this.

I guess this is how we got "slice of life" in genres. People think: "I've never seen it but I want to contribute! Sounds like it's all about vampires! I should add genres and themes I think fit based on summary! Yau I am useful!".

Nothing personal Past.

Nothing personal taken, but hey I love the slice of life genre, it is one of my favorites genres of anime and is a good name for types of shows that fit that category.

This leads back to my question... why? If it really is one person, to have the 'no life'-ity that he has (making 51 accounts), he must be really messed up in the head. Could an admin please try to look into this?

I'm not that much of a fanatic of Bakemonogatari (although enough to do this) but it saddens me when people do these sorts of things to an anime which clearly deserves more. Don't get me wrong, I know episode 10 was quite disappointing with the lack of animation (or staff) but I don't think it warrants an extra 26 worst evers (based on 'dubs' which doesn't even exist).

I only do this so that Bakemonogatari could be seen up there so if a person were to check the ratings/encyclopedia entry they could go: "Oh, this sounds interesting - I might try it."

My god this makes me mad Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Bakemonoatari is amazing. Or more like AMAZING!!!
I agree with Arieaesu. People who spam are messed up. People who spam Bakemonogatari are plainly insane @$#!

Maybe we should start an antispam group (to bring votes up), but that`s almost the same thing as spamming Anime smile + sweatdrop

Spammers will fail.
Bakemonogatari will climb to the top even with those "worst ever" votes

Dormcat, is this a good image?

Yes, certainly better than the existing one, although it looks a bit like a harem. I've cropped and uploaded it under your credit; you can edit it if you find a better one.

I think that pic is perfect. We have Araragi acting like a badass, his girlfriend sits on his leg (threatening him with a stapler), Tsubasa is watching over them, and the rest of the cast(minus only Oshino...). Excellent image I believe. It should stay.

Not to say the picture doesn't represent the subject well (haven't seen the series, but the pic looks good to me), but that's fan art that was submitted to Pixiv rather than an official image. I'm just wondering if that's allowed?

Mm well, allowed or not that picture will definitely make this anime more popular among men.
That picture with her pouring scissors out her skirt was just senseless to begin with.

Geh, its composition was so good that it fooled my eyes. After you mentioned it I magnified and examined the picture and you were correct: it was not an official anime art (borders between colors were too blended).

On the other hand, the previous picture was taken from here. If you examine the picture closely you'll feel it was heavily vector-traced -- not a standard way to draw promotional art either. I've found this one on the same site (note it contains both official and unofficial wallpapers) much more convincing: the way lines and curved tapered is very typical of promotional art (especially if you have magnified wall scrolls and pin-up centerfolds). The fuzzy feel tells me it was scanned, not vector-traced like the other one. Can anyone double check it for me? TIA.

On a related note, but in regard to a different anime, I just went and rated Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, then checked its score out of curiosity. I noticed it was ranked 27 in arithmetic mean. Hmm, that seemed odd given the shape of it's ratings graph. Wait, what's that? 97 votes for excellent with the bar length at somewhat less than double the length of the 13 votes of Very Good and Good? And 51 of those are rated for the dub? Hmmm.

I don't usually rate anime I've only seen partially, but all this crap about so many dub votes when the dub doesn't even exist is getting really weird. I know Dub is the default option but that many mistakes couldn't possibly... and if you take a look at Bakemonogatari again you'll notice Rus.dub:1, but, that definitely was a mistake. But I always wonder, why would someone even waste time on something like this.

So I see we are back with the old picture, huh. Scissors pouring out of her skirt. Confused

I see what you mean Dorcas. That very same person bumped up Tokyo magnitude while drowning Bakemonogatari. That explains all these odd 'dub' ratings. 51 dub for excellent for tokyo and 51 dub worst ever for Bake. Now I don't know the background formulas but if he continues to add more and more titles to his anime list he will eventually become "trusted" user... now that would be sad.

This whole thing is somewhat funny. This person wants his opinion to weight more (hahaha). That just means that he is arrogant bastard who likes to put himself above others (My animez is bettar then yourz!!!).

egoist 'dub' is not the only default. I usually watch anime subbed so my default rating is now 'sub' since I rate 'sub' most of time. But if person usually watches anime 'dub' or 'rus.dub' it will become their default, hence we see odd language ratings.

EDIT: FFS Bake is now a harem? User who submitted info with 'no source' says so, he must know something I don't... just like Higurashi is a harem, Elfen Lied, FS/N, SZS and many others...

I meant default as in default for first timers. Sorry for not making that clear.
But if I'm not mistaken the plot summary has been cleared up?
There was 2 before, wasn't it?
But yea, there's a light harem touch in the anime, which makes it more interesting.

Are you implying it should stay? Do I need to remind you that Themes is what anime is about, not "light touch" within the series. Shuffle! is a harem, Princess Lover! is a harem, School Days is a harem, Guardian Hearts is a harem, Strawberry 100% is a harem... By your logic Clannad is a harem too, and then Kannagi, Haruhi (since Kyon can choose out of three girls) and, well, any other series that has male lead and at least two female leads(or vice versa).

Do I sound outraged? Well I am. Because people don't put any thought into their 'contributions' much like you don't do so in some of your posts.

I am going to take a chill pill now, 'grow up' and stop freaking out; because I don't know those people and I can't change anything about their ways.

No, I'm not implying it should stay.
There's the light touch but the anime never assumed that so categorizing it as harem would be wrong.
And well, I do put some thoughts in my posts, the problem is that I normally don't read what others are saying. Sorry about that, living alone for so long is finally having its effects. As a result I've been editing most of my posts like 5 times, so by now I'm guessing people must be thinking my posts are quite enigmatic since everytime they visit the thread there's an added line. Like this line I'm adding now.

What is considered a light harem show inside my head:
Any show where one/the protagonist has 3 or more characters attracted to him/her.

Surprise surprise folks... It just went up to 63 dubs for both Bakemonogatari and Tokyo Magnitude.

An admin should really look into this >_>
