It's not just new anime right? Gamestop sells all older releases for half price to right?

Yes, yes. "Shrinkwrap" is the word (it left my mind for some reason... Anime smile + sweatdrop). Anyway, I meant that I've actually received brand new DVDs before that had NO shrinkwrap. I had to try and peel off the pricetag from the casing itself.

The case looked real tacky ever since, and I was kind of ticked at how bad it looked.

You can also get new boxes for free from Blockbuster. The best day to ask for them is on Tuesday when they put all the new movies out.

Another question:

Does this apply to on-line orders as well? Here's why I ask:

I went to one Gamestop and all they had were used discs. I remember they had a couple of Ranma 1/2 box sets for the longest time and I asked if they had been sold. They said that their entire 'new' anime line had been scattered, with most of it winding up in a particular store a bit north of them. I went to that store and they didn't have any Ranma (although I did pick up the Nadesico and Sorcerer Hunter box sets :) )
I asked and was told that all Ranma DVDs were shipped back to HQ. I have emailed the company about getting them and haven't gotten a reply yet (then again, it's only been 2 days).
Can I order them and would the deal still apply?

Okay, i'm abit confused here.

I went to the local gamestop, and got myself Excel Saga 4 and 5. I was expecting to get them for $30 all together ($29.99 - 50% * 2 = $30.00.

Yet, I got them for $15.00 for the two. Did I miss something in the sale here?

One of the things that always bugged me about buying DVDs from a GameStop is that all the ones I've been to around here don't have a protective covering between the case and price tag, which makes it REAL bothersome to peel off the plastic cover on the case. Mad

Yesterday, I found out that this means they can have cases on the shelves without the corresponding disc behind the counter.

For those in the L.A. area, don't expect to see me working at GameStop in the Northridge Fashion Center. I just quit due to scheduling conflicts with my other job.

Were the discs marked "$29.99?" It could be that they forgot to update the tags to their current sticker price of $14.99.

That always happened when I worked there. But in most cases, we have the disc, but not the case because someone steals the case without even looking inside. Then again, people steal cases because the covers are the only good part of most crap-ass games (i.e. Driv3r).
