They cost about $800. They are custom made after my instructions by a local company which works with materials from Germany and Holland. I chose everything from size and materials to color and glass.

I brought a few anime figures to display in the new cabinets. As you know I have more in my anime collection but these were boxed and decided to open them up for display here. There is so much space left on the 2 shelves where I displayed the figures, more could be added easily without cluttering.

She's not technically an anime character, but I got this Celica figure today, and I think it's pretty nice.

Don't think there's any way to get her other foot in the base though...

My new display cabinets arrived today. Smile 2 of them are on a wall and 3 on the opposite wall (they are joined together so thus they look like being only a smaller curio and a larger one). Each of the separate curios is about 2 meters tall and about 1 meter wide. I included the Gentle Giant ROTS Vader bust for you to see how it looks like displayed inside:

Congradulations jkno. The cabinets look great and so is the price. $800 for 5 custom made cabinets like these isn't bad at all. I envy the room space you have to house these cabinets. The height of each shelf is fixed?

On a different note, I've been worried crazy over my pre-order of Zero Code Geass from Medicom Toy, the release date seems to get pushed back, no use asking the vendors, they can't help. I am not experienced with Medicom pre-orders. Has anyone else pre-ordered the same item or other Medicom items? Should I try to cancel the order?

Thanks! The shelves are fixed but I'm considering talking to the company again to come and make at least one on each able to move up a bit for taller statues (for 15" statues)

Dang, jkno, those really are impressive shelves. Some day I'd like to have a glass display like that myself, but it would be much too costly all at once with my collection. I've got a few thousand pieces so I need something a tad bit more economical. right now I've got 5 1/2 full size steel and particle board utility shelves working for me, but I've long since run out of space. Anime smallmouth + sweatdrop I'd take new pictures, but I'm moving soon and will be packing these next two weeks. My new place has a spare master bedroom where I'll be keeping my collection (figures, anime, manga, and video games). I'm considering some good wall-length track shelves so they'll be adjustable and I can add more as space is needed. However, for now the old shelves will be going back up. Dusting isn't fun, but maybe a good air purifier can help a little.

Did you consider Ikea's Detolf cabinets? If you have many items you should keep on shelves protected by glass. Otherwise dust will get all over them and some are really hard to clean up. The glass protected shelves or cabinets help with the dust since it cannot get through so easily.

You can see my collections, I also have tons of stuff: anime figures and statues, Star Wars statues, Master Replicas and eFX props and replicas, 1/6 (12") Medicom RAH, Sideshow and Takara figures, Hot Toys 1/6 Endoskeletons, Predators and Appleseed figures etc.

Some of the props like the Master Replicas Stormtrooper blaster already comes with a display case but other don't so I need to make custom display cases to protect them from dust

Those are much, much too small to be practical for me. Maybe for a couple high-end items, but I'd need a dozen or two to fit everything.

Maybe this'll illustrate what I'm talking about:

(Excuse the mess, I've started packing)

I'm pretty handy with compressed air and a Swiffer. Anime smile + sweatdrop

Thankfully I don't have a whole lot of cloth on my figures (thanks to primarily collecting robots), that is not fun to clean. Hopefully when I move I can get my Star Wars stuff out of storage, I've got the bulk of the 90's Star Wars POTF red and green carded figures MOC (and some of the ungodly variants we used to chase back then) that haven't seen light for about seven years.

You maybe recall I bought the Gokin Tachikoma from HLJ and kept it boxed because of lack of display space. Now that I received the new cabinets I decided to assemble it and get it ready for display.

It already had the 4 legs assembled in the box, you just need to add the back cockpit, the lights and the 2 arms; it was pretty difficult to add the arms but finaly with some grease they were in - maybe hot water would have helped too.

When it was assembled I was stunned. It is the BEST Tachikoma figure in my opinion! Very detailed, quite solid but also poseable, comes with a beautiful Motoko figure, really nice features like opening cockpit where the cool Motoko fits inside, exchangable legs (you can add wheels) and weapons, and maybe most of all: it can stand by its own, no need for a separate support/stand.

I took some comparison pics with the Perfect Piece Tachikoma, but there's no comparison between these 2. The Gokin Tachi blows the Perfect Piece one out of the water.

Hi Jkno, I have a question about your Darth Vader dolls. You have two? ROTS and ROTJ? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Vader has two different heads. Can you just buy the other head if you already have a body with one head? Or must you buy the whole figure with the other head? Is this why you have two Vaders? I've seen photos of this figure on other websites. The mask off from the first version is very realistic. The back of that head (not shown in your photos) with scar marks really drew my attention. Your Star Wars collection is pretty interesting. Well, I can only admire you guys with that collection. Wish I could collect those but I'm not a guy, it would be weird to have Vader amongst my collection. But yeh, he's awsome.

Having said that, I'm now very upset with Medicom for the delay release of Code Geass Zero No 18 R2. I pre-ordered the item in early August when the Canadian dollar was on par with the US dollar, now, the Canadian dollar has nose dived and the doll is still not released! I may not be able to pay for the doll when it finally gets released. I'd have to cough out a lot more for the doll in both cost and border customs tax. I am very disappointed with Medicom Toy.

First 1/6 Medicom RAH's are not dolls but figures Wink As for RAH Vader versions they are Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi indeed, but the heads are not interchangeable. Both versions have scarred heads, the ROTS uses the young Anakin version (Hayden Christensen) and the ROTJ one uses Sebastian Shaw head as seen in the last Star Wars episode.

Besides the difference in Vader helmets (ROTS is the one which is one color - black and is very symmetrical being made with the help of the computers, the ROTJ helmet has 2 colors - black and gunmetal and it is made by old casting method - I mean the originals from movies) there are differences in armor, chest box and saber.

I pre-ordered this figure a few months ago but had to cancel the first pre-order because of release delays. I ordered him again at a higher price. In short, after a long wait and lots of frustration, he finally showed up.

His joints are strong, he has a waist joint. However, his pants cannot be taken off because they are stuck onto his feet/shoes! I think this is a mistake in design. Workmanship quality of his cloths is surely lacking. His scarf is stuck onto his body/shirt - another design mistake.

I like the sculpt of his face. His mask is a head. You have to take off his head and attach the mask as a head. He comes with extra pair of hands.

Lelouch in zero form is a very romantic figure because of his outfit. Overall, my feeling is that the quality of this figure did not fully capture that romance as much as I had hoped it would.

I just received the Hot Toys 1/6 Appleseed Ex-Machina Tereus figure. I already have Deunan & Briareos (and Takara Deunan), but all are boxed due to lack of space for now.
