So that you'd have an excuse for losing?  I doubt it would make much of a difference. I think that the rules being a massive wall of text (which is good) is off-putting for most casual users. I think that this game only having a handful of active participants is simply due to lack of interest.

Only about a quarter to a third of the ones you answered are ones that I would have had any chance to get were you not involved, and several of those would have been speed tests. So yeah, I agree with Cam0 that sitting out for a round wouldn't make that much of a difference. Now, if you wanted to be considerate, then a reasonable option might be to impose a time limit on yourself - say, not answering unless the picture's been up for at least 4 or 6 hours. Even under that restriction, you'd still probably be one of the top scorers. |

I would not be in favor of that. If you want to play you should play. I will admit though that it probably would not help me if you did abstain. In this whole game I know only 10 characters, and I somehow managed to get 6 of them. You did not get any of the other 4.
I do not know if it would make a positive difference. It might just make the game slower because we would have to wait for somebody else to get the right answer and post a new picture. |

You discourage me from playing this game - for two reasons. 1. Your images are, as often as not, NSFW. For sure, they're only soft porn and I have no fundamental objection to them, but, as I work in a busy, open-plan call centre for an avowedly equal opportunity company, they're not the sort of things I want my colleagues seeing. 2. I mentioned in an earlier post that you are a sort of funnel. You invariably post stuff from anime that, not only have I not seen, but I'm not remotely interested in. For sure, that's a result of our differences in tastes, but, with your enormous viewing experience, you could post interesting images. The result is, whenever I see your name as the most recent poster in the thread, I don't bother looking. I know the image will be, at best, unknowable for me and, at worst, embarrassing. In contrast, I always check out what Calathan has posted and, on occasion, end up watching the anime in question. I'm saying all this as a frustrated player, not as a moderator. Wearing my moderator's hat, I don't have a problem. |

Errinundra, I am in almost the same situation as you. I know I won't get any of Vaisaga's.
I did a run through of the thread, and I managed my one point, but I only recognized 9 other pictures on sight. So I knew 10/217, so almost 5%. And 3 of those would have been in the pure speed test category anyway. It's just indicative of the fact that my interests don't fall in line with new anime, hell, I would guess that close to half of the anime used in this game I've never heard of. So I don't think him leaving is going to matter much to me. And I think all the zoom/closeup shots of anything that isn't face are lame. I wish more people were ok with posting a nice full frame shot, or at least a bust. |

Thank you for doing the math. I also knew only 10, but I did not count the other images to get the total. There was one image from a show that I had seen but I just did not remember that character, but most of the other 200+ images were from shows that I have never seen. But I still have fun following the game and trying to be the first to respond to one of the few characters that I do know. It can also be fun to try to search for an answer based on the clues, but so far I have never gotten one that way. |
