I just thought I'd let y'all know that I found out that Best BUY is THE place to get Gundam SEED unless you're going to buy from deepdiscountDVD. Why? I went to my local Best Buy (geographic location: Roanoke, Virginia) yesterday to see how outrageous (compared to online prices) their Gundam SEED dvd's were in price, and was pleasantly surprised. They had the individual DVDs for $19.99, and the Volume 1 + artbox for $32.99. Unfortunately, they only had volumes 1, 4, and 5 for sale when I looked.

Still, unless you want to order online, go get them at Best Buy. And I think this is one of the only series that they price this low. I looked at a few other titles and saw that I could buy them at the same online stores who were selling Gundam SEED for more than Best Buy was.

Just thought I'd give y'all a heads up on good pricing Smile.

Which is really good, because the only other place in the area with a decent anime selection is FYE and they price things so high it's insane (they actually try to sell AT MSRP for all the anime they offer. I NEVER shop there anymore. My money is best saved shopping elsewhere).

Best Buy sells movies and music at a discount so they can have you there when it's time to buy a refrigerator or home theater system or something.

Suncoast is bad like that too. They sell everything at MSRP.

Of course, if you don't live anywhere near a Best Buy it isn't much help (and the closest Best Buy to where I live is 300 miles away Mad ) Crying or Very sad.

You got that right! I no longer shop at fye 'cause they never discount their anime selections (plus they never have the titles that I want). Best Buy is the way to go.

On occasion, I buy anime at the online shops, but I don't make it a habit, and it's not because of the prices. I live in Ohio, and our state government require us to pay any "use tax" on out-of-state purchases in which we pay no sales tax on said purchases. We pay this "use tax" when we file our tax returns, and the tax rate varies depending on the county.

Ewwww, that royally SUCKS. I'm glad neither virginia or arizona has anything like that, because I love to shop online. Here at home, Best Buy is the best place locally to shop for anime (unless you want to pay AT or near MSRP at Walden Books or FYE. Walden's selection also sucks, though I think they offer it just to help supplement their really nice manga selection), and in Arizona (where I go to college), I don't have a car, so getting out to shop for anime at gamestop, or samgoody (neither of which I will do, unless just browsing, NOT shopping) or best buy isn't feasible.

I've regularly bought from TSRI (when they have specials. they don't sell at or near MSRP, but still closer than other online shops with similar selections. though their prefered buyers club is nice, which is why I belong to it), the anime corner store (found out about them because of ANN Very Happy), or deepdiscountDVD, before and been quite pleased. If I get my stuff shipped via Priority Mail, it will almost always arrive the 2nd day after it ships and always in excellent condition. THough if FREE shipping is offered, I almost ALWAYS take it Wink.

Well, Suncoast does have the new releases on sale for like a week when they first come out. I picked up a Wolf's Rain dvd there for $19.99 two days after it came out.

I usually don't like Best Buy too much because they don't have much of a back catalog selection for older anime or series you might have missed in a previous month.

I shop online as well, I like amazon and animecastle.com. Because I'm in NJ, Animecastle.com can get stuff to me the next day after placing the order with regular shipping. Can't beat that in my opinion.

I've had some bad experience with deepdiscount, but it is mostly due to 4th class mail service and not the retailer. I guess it is true, you get what you pay for. Expedited mail if you use deepdiscount in my opinion.

Best Buy is usually the only place I buy my anime.

And yes, I plan on getting the Gundam Seed box sometime.

But didn't Bandai stop releasing boxed sets of their series? If so, then there may not be a Gundam SEED boxed set. You'll instead have to buy each volume seperately. I don't like it, because it now means that I only have a limited time left to get Banner of the Stars and Banner II complete sets before they are sold out of the stores I shop at and I'll have to end up paying more by buying the individual volumes.

Yes, Sir Brass, what Kazuki-san said. The last time I went to Best Buy, there was plenty of Gundam SEED boxes so I'm not worried. I want that cd Very Happy . And there isn't a box set for it yet though, it's just volume with box. To be honest, I was only planning on buying the first three volumes because I didn't tape those.
