This was fun to watch but it surprises me that he's just now finding out about conan.

Keep in mind that Detective Conan isn't popular in North America. Sure it has fans here, but it's largely unknown within the mainstream. Had it gained a Dragon Ball-sized fan base, he probably would've found out about it years ago.

Anyway, it was a fun watch. And the most famous Conan is that barbarian guy Wink

And he already beat THAT joke into the ground when he first started for NBC and nobody knew his name, even from SNL or the Simpsons.
Every reporter was making the same jokes, O'Brien had a running feature for the first week on the show where he let average man-on-the-street NY'ers get allll the corny "Conan the (....)arian" jokes out of their system, and reacted with comic "yeah, happy now?" expressions.

This actually isn't the first time Detective Conan has been mentioned on his show. I'm surprised it wasn't brought up then as part of the joke but it didn't help that it was renamed "Case Closed" so I guess they missed it.

I had thought that he had a problem as they both aired at same time during his NBC stint.
