The character designs for Bokura ga Ita remind me of Honey and Clover. Somehow it seems like it might turn out to be quite an interesting anime. Just a feeling, though.

i have a hunch it will have a feel similar to Akagi. when i was watching that show (even though i had absolutely no background on Mahjong/Majyaan) i remembered how it felt a lot like Deathnote while i was reading the manga back then.

good thing deathnote won't be awkward because of wack character design like akagi (Although I have to say that despite that and a total lack of knowledge in mahjong, it's a good watch just for the suspense)
I was one of the doubters that thought that Death Note would never get anything in the way fo a series or movie. I thought it was too dailogue heavy. Seeing as I couldn't stand the monster anime (yet loved the manga) I didn't really think it woudl be able to make a good transition. I've still got hope...but it's not much... I'll probably give up on it... although if it only gets 26 episodes and gets compressed a bit I'd probably actually enjoy it more as long as they don't pull a stunt like Black Cat. Altho I still wouldn't mind seeing gonzo get a shot at it jsut for the visuals(no matter how likely or unlikely that is) |
