Well, to me and maybe many others outside the US this is very bad news. Almost all streams I've tried on Funimation's website are region restricted and cannot be viewed outside the US.
Add C&R letters from Funimation stopping fansubs (which WILL happen/does already happen) - and people outside the US have no option to watch their beloved anime anymore!
How could this be good news?! Evil or Very Mad

I'm outside of the US, and I've watched bundles of shows on FUNimation's site, and their Youtube profile, while at school (ssshhhh).

For example the test episode of Keroro Gunso on YouTube is region restricted, Shikabane Hime is region restricted on all available portals. Same with Crayon Shin-chan, Shigurui, Tales of Phantasia... No fun at all!

Gonzo's shows have been legally available on CR without region restrictions (aside from Japan itself) for some time now. This ultimately doesn't increase the number of people to whom their shows are available.

Awesome news.

Let's hope this means we'll eventually get releases of Rosario + Vampire, Special A, Strike Witches, Shangri-La, and Saki.

Yeah I'd like to see the Rosario + Vampire anime because I really like the manga. I've also heard that Shangri-La is good. I don't know much about the rest of those though.

Funi is trying to reach its audience, and it sure is doing a good job with it. I can't wait to see what new anime series await me from them.

The question is how have the sales of K.A, shaft or J.C staff been doing over in America (R2). Call me a realist but the alliance isn't one based on bad decision if you add profit into the equation. The Japanese and American market are different when it comes to anime with a few titles that continuously sells well like Dragonball.

Actually, no, these aren't "facts", they are your opinions. Anyways, it's a pointless complaint, because it's not like these agreements are mutually exclusive.

It seems that Funimation is focusing on streaming a lot, and I'm sure they'd love to work out agreements with other companies too. Streaming Gonzo won't stop them from continuing to attempt to do so.

If Strike Witches (and it's sequel (was that ever confirmed? I can't read Japanese to tell)) is part of this deal, I'll be very, very, very happy. Especially if the episodes move outside the download-to-own, because, well, I want a physical copy. However, I will be rather ticked if they're not the DVD versions. At any rate, it's undeniable that this is good news.

This better not interfere with the uploading of the last episode of Tower of Druaga this week. I don't mind Funimation uploading streams as long as they are still available and free but I won't stand waiting weeks for the last episode, especially after episode 11.

A stick on the front of the final DVD of series one seems to confirm it, as far as I can make out

The press release says "The collaboration will showcase English subtitled versions of GDH properties streamed via FUNimation's website (www.funimation.com) as well as through GDH's key video-sharing partners." - which I guess is referring to existing channels like Crunchyroll.

Well, suppose that answers my question. Now just hoping that Funimation will actually stream it.
