Pretty disappointing NYAF. No Viz/Tokyopop/Kodansha USA, FUNimation had nothing to announce, and Yen had no new manga licenses.

I hope YP finds a good artist for Carringer's Soulless. It's a great novel that deserves a good treatment. I'll be following this development closely.

Well, what do you expect? This isn't Anime Expo.

I'm very happy to see that another With the Light volume is coming, and still very sad that it is posthumous. This will be volume 8; volume 7 just came out.

Yes, I'm happy to see that the post-humous volume is being released. When I found out about the mangaka's death, I was saddened because I was really enjoying the story. As of now, I only own the first two volumes, but I plan on getting the rest. It's a really heart-warming story.

I didn't realize there was a posthumous volume of With the Light, but I'm so glad Yen is releasing it. I just finished v. 7 last week, and wished there were even a little more, something based on Tobe's notes or something to somewhat wrap things up. Got my wish. ^_^

This is pretty disappointing, but it's great they got the last volume of WtL, since some people were worried about that, I figured they'd release it eventually, so...no surprise there.

Oh well. Hope to see some new announcements in 2011, I guess. Unless they announce them some other way other than cons?

On another note, the Vertical panel is in like half an hour, here's hoping there's some news there!

Awww. I am soooo going to miss With the Light. It's my number one favorite manga of all-time, and I only discovered it two years ago! But WHAT!? SEPTEMBER!!!? Not next March like it's usual schedule!? Awww. Well, at least it's all the more to look forward to. And what does "posthumous" mean?

Again, RIP Tobe Keiko.

It means they published the book after their death.

So one license and some iPad stuff that no one cares about?

I guess, at least, it means they're not going to just die.

Yay for Svetlana Chmakova doing more things~! I don't even care (at the moment) that it's an adaption and not an original project! Very Happy

I was kind of wondering about this too. Why a year (vs. the usual 6months) for a significantly shorter volume? (Yen Press's books have been double volumes)

I'm not trying to be rude and I'm still grateful we get this series at all but it just doesn't make sense.

Took the words right out of my mouth, comrade.

I absolutely adore this series, and so I'm eternally grateful to Yen for introducing it into my life, and now even more so because I can get more closure. Does this mean the series will have more of a "proper" ending? I'm only up to vol. 5 so I don't know how much of Hikaru's life is covered.
