Manga character? Looks more like Courtney Love to me (and that's no compliment )

Was "the '80s" the theme? Sure looks like it was.
And yeah, when I think "manga" I instantly think of wedding dresses. (Wedding Peach not withstanding.) Emerje |

Maybe they based the photoshoot off of Princess Ai? |

Honestly, the girl's almost 30 years old. Who REALLY wants to see her in a middle school bathing suit with a backpack, other than some guys with that kind of fetish?
And considering the girl's personal history, I wouldn't exactly classify her as the "manga heroine" type. Not exactly innocent or sane enough... and she's not the proper type of crazy either. But, well, the photos are allright, I guess. And I'm guessing she wants/needs the money, so whatever. *shrugs* Edit: Also, these photos looks more "Barbie" than "Manga" to me. |

Looks more like a young Cindy Lauper than herself, but I guess I'm more use to seeing her with blazing red eye's with that psychotic crazed look, and smeared mascara.

To me, she looked like a barbie girl that is trying to look like a vampire but ultimately looks like tired 35 year old wedding bride (and no, that isn't a compliant either.) There is more I could go into, especially because it's Britney, but it's not worth risking offending someone. Though upfront, just because you posed in a magazine, doesn't instantly mean you understand manga. Yes, that wasn't said at all, but just getting that out there. |

For a second I thought it said Teruaki Murakami. Now that would have been something.

I fail to see what it's so great about Murakami art. Sure making cute-weird characters is no piece of cake. But I am sure anyone here can name at least 10 mangakas who draw better and are more original.

Remember: if you want to be a manga character, hire the founder of the Superflat (NSFW!!) movement that was meant to deconstruct and satirize anime and manga.
From Britney's tweet it's very likely that they have no idea who the guy is, except for "a Japanese artist who does stuff in manga style." Or even what manga is.
Post this to 2ch, they'll hunt Murakami down for plagiarism. |

Mangaka Seiji Matsuyama has disclosed that Britney Spears was cosplaying the main character from his book Okusama wa Shōgakusei. |
