That was really charming. It actually was pretty well done for a fan film and....

(looks at the guy in the white shirt who played the Guntank)

...Hideaki Anno, is that you?!?

As said above, this is old news. I remember seeing it during Anime Hell at Anime Central around five years ago, if not earlier. This plus the story about Starcraft's battlecruiser's Yamato Gun a few days ago make me wonder about whoever is doing ANN's interest stories.

Step up your game and find new news.

I seen this back in 2007 sometime. Noobs and Gundam nerds need to see this.

I don't get it, is it suppose to be from 79 or something? (as in one of the first Fan made gundam videos)

I mean it looks like it, but it could just be making a joke of some kind, so I don't completely get it.

I was gonna say the same thing. ACen 05, my first con. Still funny though, having not seen it since then.

Which reminds me, I should look for Fisting the North Star again...

The source credited with this story does say that the fan-film was "created way back when the very first Gundam came out". It's just ANN's wording that makes it sound like it was made yesterday or something.

Still funneh though.

Oh wow. I didn't realize from the title that this was like 1980s vintage and done by fans on film. Ha. Nice.

Yeah, this video does love to make its rounds. The first time I'd seen it was here on the forums around five years ago when it was first uploaded, Then it started showing up again when the 1:1 Gundam was built the first time, and then Daily Bento dug it back up so it's making its rounds yet again.

Still, glad to see people are still enjoying it.

That was actually much, much better than that lousy G-Saviour movie. The people who made this video were actually trying.
