They're interested in possibly releasing part 1 of their upcoming shows as a limited edition 1st press in a hardtack box that would also fit the second part instead of those paperflap box they use now. This is great news for us collector's that hate their flimsy artboxes, so we need enough people to take this survey to convince them that's the right thing to do.

YES YES YES YES YES! Obviously I voted for chipboard sets, but, honestly, either would be pretty sweet since the reason I don't by half sets is because I hate how they look; I'd rather have one cheap keepcase than two. Having some type of sleeve to put them in would fix my little OCD problem. I also don't mind the paper sleeves they use for box sets, it's the keepcases I hate since they remind me of singles, and I hate lone singles on my shelf *stares at his Tenchi Muyo, Sailor Moon, Scrapped Princess, Trigun Remix DVDs*

The premium item is a little unnecessary, but if it's something neat like magnets, coins, etc, I'd live.

I voted yes, especially if the extras are stuff like soundtrack CDs, and I liked how the price increase is only a few dollars over the current half season sets.

Thanks for the tip, Hannish Smile I hope my answers are useful to them.

I would prefer one box per anime instead of two as well. Non-digital extras I'd like to see are phone charms, plushes, soundtracks and posters/cards. And I wouldn't care for upscaled pseudo-HD if I had a Blu-ray player.

Taking a chance this is legit, I took the survey. I wish the questions were a little more open rather than fixed options. Some options didn't allow for a multiple selection, which isn't an accurate portrayal of my answer to the question. I was really surprised there wasn't a final comments box.

I loved the question asking fans how much they'd pay for a 26 episode box set. I put down "$29.99-$39.99. Anything more and forget it."

I was really surprised FUNimation's thinking of adding trinkets to purchases. How many of you checked all? Wink
I even threw in vehicle decals into the "What did we forget" box. Razz

Well, we'll see what happens with the results. I wonder if we'll ever see them. It would be nice to see how many are on par with my spending habits.

If Funi's future releases can include Soundtracks, I would bow down and worship them. As I'm a reasonable perso, nand not that terribly cheap I did say I'd pay around $80 for a 26 episode box set...but I wouldn't pay a dime above $50 for a 13 episode one.

It was heartening to see that FUNi was asking a lot of questions about extra content on their DVDs. I always listen to their commentaries and watch their extra features, and mostly enjoy them.

Honestly, it's always struck me as being the most obvious thing in the world: if you're offering content in addition to the show, you're giving fansub users an incentive not to act like thieving gits and actually buy stuff.

Seriously? That's a little unrealistic, isn't it? Still, if you don't ask, you don't get. Laughing

I put down no more than 30 for their current packaging, but if they beefed up the packaging I'd be will to pay up to 120$ >A>;; maybe more...

No, not really. Every 26 episode title on DVD Pacific is listed at $30-40. And you know what? If Funimation doesn't like the fact that that's all people are willing to pay, they can only blame themselves and their S.A.V.E. label. I don't know about everyone else, but nowadays I just wait for the S.A.V.E. of since it's going to happen. For example, I recently removed the Bamboo Blade box set from to buy calendar (I mark down release dates) since I decided I'm just gonna wait for the cheaper release. Funimation may not like it, but I'm saving a good $20 and get to buy other stuff with that money.

Now, if they gave me some incentive to not wait, then I'm sold. You know, like chipboard sleeves.

I love the idea of premium items. If FMP came with a bonta-kun plushie or Nanoha came with an ARF plushie,, i would definitely have paid more.

Firstly, my purchase history.

From that, it's not an unreasonable request to make if this price point is something I will pay. The $80 price comes from the industry's inability to wait it out. $39.99 or less is not just my average, but many, many buyers including Mr. Bargain Hunter himself (hell, he's probably got me beat even more so!).

It's a plastic disk that costs (speculatively) $2 each to manufacture (including packaging). At 6 disks (4 eps each), that's $12. To go from this to $80 is completely insane.

I know why it's this high, but there's no way the industry will ever get this amount from me.

Oh, and that $80 set... comes out Aug 24 at $29.99. Wink

I can wait.

This survey is getting me excited. One thing I hated about FUNimation's releases was the cereal box quality boxes they put them in. I was wondering why they didn't give us nice chipboard boxes for at least the initial releases and save the cheap stuff for the re-releases. Now it looks like that may happen with only a small increase in price. And if we get pack-ins all the better. With the collapse of Geneon, I've been missing my soundtracks.
