I had to think for a bit and I came up with these for my Top 4:
Kanon
Gunslinger Girl
RahXephon
Koi Kaze
My Top 4 is schizo.
Interesting survey. Kind disturbing what I'm reading between the lines though. (Oh well, at least I've got a PS3 for Blu-Ray and, if I must, digital downloads.)
It'd be nice to win a contest on ANN.

Heh, you know, my impression of Dragonball the first time I tried watching it was that in 7 episodes only 3 episodes worth of stuff actually happened. So why not give it a try? If I win it, I'll watch it... and most likely sell it. Answering the survey was fun too.
In case anyone cares, in no specific order:
Gankutsuou
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Revolutionary Girl Utena
I own the first two, I'd like to own the others, hint hint hint companies.

Ooo, I wanna go too. In order:
Naruto
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Samurai Champloo
Ghost in the Shell SAC
I think I mixed up SC and GITS when I submitted the survey, but you get the idea. Lots of overlap in that list....
I've been enjoying DBZ:Kai on Nicktoons, but I think that it's driving me to buy the D-boxes and just fast forward through the slow parts. I really miss the JP score and I'm already used to the JP voices. Too bad if I go that way, because FUNi's finally providing a serviceable dub for DBZ. Maybe I'll buy DBZ:Kai down the line.

Man that last question is a doozy. I haven't even thought about something like that for years. In the end I picked some good series, but whether it is truly a top four is doubtful.

I don't have four series I like that much. I barely have 6 full series I've actually watched. So I put Fullmetal Alchemist, Skip Beat!, Death Note, and Full Moon o Sagashite. Even though I didn't really like Death Note--crap, I could've put Haruhi. One of the only two anime I've purchased...so stupid. (Why I've only purchased two anime? I'm a high school student with no money and my parents won't let me get a job...It's not as if I haven't watched like the two anime I actually have seen legally, though.)

Though, I took the opportunity to express some requests via the survey, so even if I don't win the series, I still win.

Same here, put Cardcaptor Sakura on top of my favorite anime list (which is true), probably should've just put all unlicensed anime that I want there to see if that helped. |
It would be pretty sweet if that worked. Considering my number 2 show was R.O.D the TV which they skipped when they license rescued from Geneon and my number 3 was Hellsing Ultimate which they haven't said one word about since they helped out Geneon with volume 4, and Japan released volume 7, I just hope they take a serious look at that particular question. I already own ROD, but it just seems like of all the Geneon stuff they did pick up, skipping that was a mistake. However, I really hope they notice Hellsing, that one is just a no-brainer. |
Well, since the last time they had a survey like this I think a lot of people said they wanted to see CCS licensed so I'm hoping that if we keep at it someone will notice (or even get a statement that it's not possible, honestly I'd settle for that too just so we could know). |
I feel the same way with Hellsing. I'd settle for either a yes or no answer so I can know if it's worth it to keep waiting or if I should just go get the manga and be done with it. Of course, I'm not expecting anything, but at least it's a chance to let them know.

I snickered at the fact that none of my top 4 were released by Funimation...

None of mine were original Funi releases either, 2 were Geneon titles, 1 was a Sync Point title, and 1 was a Viz title. 2 of the titles I put down were license rescued by Funimation however.
