I'm not seeing any news. Just reiteration of previous statements and a whole lot of "So, what's your next show? Is is Grappler Baki? Tennis No Oujisama? Or could it be... NARUTO?!"

Blue Gender received only minor edits for its Adult Swim broadcast. A few of the excessively gory scenes and nudity, which you wouldn't get anyway on most TV in the United States.

Huh!? There were tons of edits in Blue Gender.

What is this a government agent answering questions? The ambiguity was horrible. Couldn't even give the best rated anime on CN.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. What the hell is that guy talking about? Maybe he's thinking of the version that they originally sent to CN, before it was sent back to be edited further...

Honestly, what do you people expect? Sales and ratings information is sensitive stuff for media corporations. It's definitely a need-to-know sort of situation; honestly what reason do you have for really wanting to know that outside of basic curiosity? They have no obligation to tell you how their titles are doing or what they have licensed. Stuff like that affects things you don't even know about and frankly, we're just fans, we don't NEED to know this stuff. If we were FUNimation's investors, that's another story. If we were FUNimation's licensors, that's another story. We're just customers. We don't really need that info. Frankly it's a little nosy.

What's wrong with being curious? And actually, sales and ratings info isn't need-to-know it's actually public information. Nielsen does ratings reports, which are available to anyone (who pays, but the info gets dissimenated anyway). While individual sales figures may not be disclosed, sales figure are tracked, which help lists like Billboard's Rankings. And while they don't have to announce what titles they are trying to license, if they do license a title, they must announce it at some point. None of that information is some huge, closesly guarded secret.

We never said anything about needing info..We just thought some of the answers and some of the questions were stupid.

And after years
and years
and years
and years
of anime companies maintaining that they only announce titles when they're good and ready, you'd think anime fans would stop expecting them to just say "oh yeah we licensed that" on a forum when they ask. "DO YOU HAVE NARUTO" is not going to get answered. Ever. When you know the answer, it's because you went to a panel or read a press release where the announcement was made.

Fact of the matter is, license announcements ARE hugely-guarded secrets before they get announced, and they get announced in very specific ways, and if fans paid attention they wouldn't expect unreasonable things and then act put off and whine when the company tells them to go jump.

Also, if the ratings and sales information is so readily available, go get it yourself. If it's their company policy not to comment on it, accept that and go get the info yourself. What's so hard about this?

I do, but I fail to see why a company cannot comment on information that is already out there. Besides, if the info came from them, the problem of incorrect numbers could be fixed. I'm reminded of why I hate politics. Everything is there in black and white on the records, and yet politicians will deny it, say the numbers are wrong, or say they won't comment on it, but they never give what the "real" numbers are supposed to be.

Vekou: Yeah, I thought the interviewer came off fairly unprofessional with his/her loaded questions.

You do realize that the "Interviewer" in question is anyone on the Adult Swim boards who wants to post a question correct? I actually posted a few questions regarding DVD release info for Full Metal Alchemist, but havnet gotten an answer yet.

Why bother looking into something? It might not give you a reason to bash it.

Ah, the idiocy of fandom.

If they're only using one intro for the adult swim broadcast of Fullmetal, it should be UNDO. I like that better than ready steady go. When they say, they're Fullmetal is going to be "slightly unedited", do they mean "FLCL unedited" or "Blue Gender unedited"?
