What is a better purchase, the Complete Collection or the Perfect Collection? What is the difference between the two?

I'd go with the cheaper one.

If neither is $14.99 or less, skip both. It's okay, but definitely not worth more than $15.

As near as I can tell, the Complete Collection is just the rerelease of the Perfect Collection, which may be out of print. Both have all 26 episodes and should have the same Extras.

Of the three releases on rightstuf, this one and this one seem to be identical in content. The third release contains the OVA.

I bought the Perfect Collection way back when it first came out, full price. It was the first anime boxset I ever owned.
A decent series. The dub is godawful, though. I remember when I liked it, but my standards changed.
Hm, I spent this post opining on my own experience and not being of any use!

actually it helped. I tend to watch shows in both dub and sub so at least I now know not to expect much from the dub.

Well, it's a fairly early ADV dub, so yeah, I wouldn't expect a lot from it. But I find that a lot of ADV dubs don't quite hold up today.

I received the one with the OVAs as a gift and I liked it, though it was more for the goofy character moments that the story. Anyone else remember the "special" computer program?
You might be able to find a cheaper copy on ebay.
