Hi there everyone. I just joined, obviously, and am making my first step into this amazing site. I'm a 42 year old houswife, thus, married, with 4 children ranging from 22 to 4. I've always been a huge anime junkie but we didn't have a computer for several years. Now I see all these sites that you can watch anime on and am very excited. I've raised and am raising my kids to love anime as I always have. Now with this computer there is so much anime to catch up on and watch. So far I'm up to eps 155 in Shippuden...love this series so much more that the original Naruto. Seen the Classic Elfin Lied, Seen all of D.Gray man, watched some of Black Cat and am also a huge fan of the semi-anime Avatar. My favorite anime of all time is Ruouroni Kenshin.
I've just started of Blade of the Immortal. I plan to watch some other "short" animes and then catch up on Bleach. Still have to watch over a hundred to catch up with Bleach. I also love Ergo Proxy, Claymore, Moribito, WitchBlade, Trinity Blood, Black Lagoon, Darker than Black and anything by Hayao Miyazaki!

Welcome, Navez. You just forgot to tell us one thing, who are you in the picture? The guy with cucumber eyes, and banana nose looks quite nerdy and persistent, while the guy on the right isn't wearing glasses and has his collarbone intact. Let's go with the left one, after all he looks cooler.
I'm pretty sure there are quite a few housewives about. I was kind of shocked when I first realized that anime actually reached so many different audiences, but I suppose I'm pretty used to it nowadays. But that's definitely a good thing!
Oh, who'd say my favorite would show up there! For now it's a secret, but if you hang around you're bound to find out.

and based on your response, I think you underestimate yourself...as far a maturity goes. So, your fav is in that list hugh? Well, your welcome has made me feel very welcome and I look forward to solving the mystery as I become more accustomed here and post more and more. My husband and I are both huge anime junkies, but outside that, there is no one that even know what it is or makes fun of it when I talk about it...and I talk about it alot...because I don't care what they think...In fact I think they are the ones missing out becasue their minds are so closed to people that live in different ways. My main theme in life is tolerance. I hope by example that others can attain the same comapassion and understanding to let people live the way they want, as long as no one is getting hurt. Again, thankyou!

Well since we have some more new members a big ANN welcome to hzla, Kevin R, Navez, and IncompetentOverlord. We sure seem to be getting more and more non-American members lately. Go ANN heh. I have to say Kevin you get bonus points for liking pie lol. Pie is glorious and needs more love. Out of curiosity what kind of pies do you like? Fruit pies, cream pies, etc? I'm a cook so as you can see anything culinary related gets the fanboy in me going. Anyways as part of your guys welcome here it's my joy to give you all your very own mystery welcome bag of goodies. *hands them each a brown paper bag* Inside each of your economic friendly paper bags (also made from recycled materials too as we here at ANN care about our planet lol) you will find such wonderful treasures consisting of an empty bottle of nose spray, a handful of cherry blossoms from the Cherry Blossom tree in Washington DC, a used metro ticket used to get to said tree, and some pieces of pre-chewed gum stuck to the seats of the metro train used to get to said tree. It's been over a year since I was last on so I feel the need to re-introduce myself mostly because when I look back, I have changed from the person I was a few years back when I first joined these forums (both in my tastes of what I watch as well as how I view anime).
Well to start things off hello all, I'm back (probably not for good, but for a good post every now and then) and I have a different outlook on anime than I used to have. I guess you could say I'm an older user being that I joined in 2005, but I'm not as frequent as I was before, nor do I watch as much as I used to. I'll still watch almost anything anime, but now I tend to focus on just a few specific titles (namely anything Ghibli or Gundam). Anyways glad to be back-ish. |

Hi, I'm new here (if you haven't guessed by me making this post) I've been watching anime on and off for around 10 years, recently I have found myself getting back into it but unable to find many shows that interest me. I dont foresee myself making a whole bunch of posts, but hopefully poking around here will help me out in finding some good ideas as far as discovering new and enjoyable anime.

I was born in America, so I consider myself American. (but if it matters im mostly a mix of German, Polish and Irish if I remember correctly) Religion: Baptized, but non practicing Christian. Pets:One dog, two cats. Drink/Smoke: both. (with the intentions of cutting back and quitting the latter. Likes: Lots of stuff. Dislikes: boredom, cheating (when it comes to video games) having to wake up before 11am. Favorite anime: I have watched anime on and off since I was around 15, but haven't seen all that many titles yet. Some that I have watched recently that I rather enojyed would be Gurren Lagann and Serial Experiments Lain, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (I just finished that one, I hear there is a movie coming out also, I cant wait) There were of course other good ones over the years, but those are the recent ones I liked. Favorite Manga (Light novels): I cant say that I read manga, however when I was younger I read the Ghost in the Shell graphic novel Favorite Books: The Plague Dogs, The Watership Down, The Sun Also Rises (and most anything by Hemmingway for that matter) Favorite game: EverQuest gets the most attention I guess. Favorite TV shows/Movies: Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Parks and Recreation, Carl Sagans Cosmos, Old School, Grandmas Boy, I could go on but eh. Favorite Drink: Just a plain ol' beer will suffice. Non-Alcoholic Drink: Water (pretty plain, I know.) Favorite Foods: hmm, That changes depending what I am in the mood for. but if I had to name just one, I would say fish (just about any type) Favorite Sites: Anything that can keep me occupied/interested. Favorite Music: Industrial/ebm encompasses at least 95% of the music I listen to. Hobbies: Gaming, music, TV, fishing. well, with that, back to the search. |
