I suppose it's too bad the shuttles won't be flying in 2015, or we'd be on track to hear Rouge no Dengon.
(That, or Cruel Angel's Thesis, which might be more appropriate.) |

Wow, Pazu's trumpet song is really a good wake-up call...why didn't I make that song as my alarm??!
Hope they'll try Porco Rosso's songs as their alarm...especially that 'Madness'. |

They moved the wake up time to like 6:30 or 7:00pm cst USA time, or close to it so I wasn't ready for it. Not that I would have recognized the song it just would have been nice to have seen. Have to look for replays of the days. There are 2 Japanese astronauts up there right now too.

I too have had that melody, or at least the main one, as a ring tone / alarm on my phone. I remember watching Genshiken and one of the characters has it as their ringtone. Ha. Quite an amazing song to wake up to. Of course it's an amazing album. When i visited Japan I made sure to pick up a copy. A friend of a friend over there even got us a Hirashi / Miyazaki album as a going away present. Nice to see Laputa's music get broadcast like that.

Well that is pretty neat! I always enjoyed the music of that particular movie (which I recently re-purchased). I also like the fact that My Neighbor Totoro's song got played. It is such a catchy feel-good song that everybody should wake up to it IMO.

I hope we get to see Yamazaki in her designer space suit. That one she's wearing in the photo just doesn't do it for me.
I'd imagine there's a bunch of otaku-cum-space-fans who'd prefer to see her in one of those skin-tight suits the girls wear in Rocket Girls. Suits like theirs just may become the next wave in spacesuit design. |
