Ugh. That's only two slots left for shows I actually want to watch. Those of you who love this series, though, enjoy!

Edit: Or wait, was this the last title? Cruncyroll's webpage is confusing.

I'd also like to see what it counts as a "children's show" in its excluding of titles for its "50% of all anime." Since, you know, it already airs Naruto and tons of other shows that are aimed at children in Japan.

...really Crunchyroll? Koihime Muso is the last anime of your epic spring line up?

If it wasn't for Durarara I wouldn't have renewed my membership this season

But if that's the last title... how is that even remotely 50%? There have been 16 non-children's series just reviewed at this site, and there are four or five more they've yet to preview. You'd have to have ten series to actually get to 50%. False advertising, CR!!

They originally had slots for six shows. If they've reduced it to four... I call "false advertising" even more strongly!!

Aside from my skepticism over their business model, my main beef with Crunchyroll has to do with their titanic ethics lapses in the past. People say one should just get over it, since that was then, this is now. But it's my belief that they'll do whatever's convenient for them. In that light, what's a bit of fibbing over how many shows they're actually simulcasting? Apparently there are only 8 new shows airing this season. Next season they can show 500% of all currently airing shows.

I'd actually START subscribing if they had 1080p but blah. Nothing good +same low quality I can easily find for free else where makes it a no go.

You consider 720p to be "low-quality"? Spoiled much?

I say this as a former fansubber (no longer have the time or resources) who got really sick of how entitled you lot get.

Oh good, after badmouthing Crunchyroll I get to defend them. You're making excuses for yourself. I don't know of a single anime TV series being animated at 1080p. They may later be released as 1080p blu-rays, but they're all (or just about all) animated at 720p or less. So you're basically saying you won't subscribe to Crunchyroll because you don't get an option that offers you no benefits while massively increasing bandwidth. In other words, you're making excuses. If they offered 1080p you'd make some other demand.

Well, that's 2 out of 4 for me. I'm watching Shin Koihime and Ichiban Ushiro but have no interest in Heroman or Uraboku. Very disappointing in terms of overall numbers. I think for Fall 2009, CR added something like 11 new simulcast shows. That went down to about 6 in Winter 2010 and now 4 for Spring 2010. Not an encouraging trend, for sure.

You have a connection that can stream 1080p, 0_0.

This is indeed season 2 of SHIN Koihime Muso. And indeed the second based off the game of the same title (which happens to be the sequel/expansion to Koihime Muso) .

This means someone else has licensed Senkou no Night Raid then (would assume they would get that as they had sora no woto), assuming it realy is their last anouncement.

Some hopeful news in CR's forum announcement.

Quote:

But wow, have they screwed up their series announcements this year. That line -up page constantly changes, the number of shows being announced as well as the days they will be announced change the day they are to be made. It is very annoying.

as for the actual show, I guess I should watch a little of oneof these series to see if it would hold my interest, but I don't think it's likely

This is probably caught with the pants down marketing where things didn't quite work out the way they planned when they came up with the marketing.

What a surprise. lol
This season looks pretty dead for CR. Three new shows, the 2-season anime from Fall ended, and just Durarara!!(and apparently some other show not available for the UK, so I missed it) is continuing, besides the other long running shonen(Reborn, Naruto, Fairy Fail), and Gintama is taking a leave, and according to my cousin Kaasan doesn't count as anime.

They forgot to add that demon lord anime to the Spring page. Too bad my interest in Koihime Muso is just as empty as my interest for Asura Cryin'(-tears of boredom).

So with crunchy roll adding all these titles, does this mean that there's no chance for real licensors like FUNimation to obtain these shows? Just curious...

This was talked about on an older ANNcast. Don't quote me but I believe they said that the big licensees like Funi get first dibs on whatever they want. Besides Crunchroll would only license for online streaming so anyone could still make DVD s so long as they don't stream anything.
