I think that's pretty cool that FUNimation got Lisa Ortiz back as Lina -- she nailed the role back when dubbing wasn't as smooth as it is today. But looking at the dub cast I was surprised to see a fair number of L.A.-based actors (Liam O'Brien, Cindy Robinson, Crispin Freeman, et al) along with the regular New Yorkers. I wonder if they recorded in N.Y. at NYAV Post or if NYAV Post has an L.A. connection now? Just curious.
It'll also be interesting to hear Mr. Sinterniklaas's interpretation of Xellos. (Guess I better go scope out the episodes this afternoon.)

Yeah, I was so excited when those episodes showed up on YouTube! It's great to hear the old cast again. Eric Stuart sounded a bit wonky at first, but by the second episodes it was just like old times again. If only episode 5 were uploaded, we'd be able to hear Sinterniklaas' Xellos! Ah, well. Guess we'll just have to wait!

I know Kurokami was a mix of LA and NY actors, with Mike frequently flying out to LA to direct; I assume it's the same case here. I figure the thought process was that as long as he would have to fly out to direct Crispin, since he's no longer in NY, why not take advantage of the local talent pool?

I love the dub, for the most part, not sure how I feel about Pokota's voice actor though.

I thought Pokota's voice actor was fine. I had more of problem with Wizer.

The core four haven't lost a step. Thanks again to Funi for going the extra mile with this.

Yeah, major bonus points to Funi for that. Adding this to the rest of my sets day 1.

We put the first four episodes out for promotion so all the Slayers fans can check out the dub before plunking down the money to buy the season set.

Slayers is a series most people either hate of love-it seems that there is no middle groung-I fall into the later catagory and will definetly pick it up even thought I've seen both it and Evolution subbed-I prefer my anime dubbed.

I love Slayers but I prefer to hear it in Japanese(and english subbed).
It was really awesome to see the franchise return.
