!!! Go Naruto!!!!!!!
People One Piece is miles better than than Naruto/Bleach. Do yourself a favor and go watch it!!!!! FUNimation Hype up your damn Anime. I don't know how One Piece is selling (I hope really good) but One Piece deserves to have the same if not more attention than Naruto. |

Why is this news? And yes I wish that One Piece would take the lead over Naruto and Bleach, because it's far better than both combined. |

Woo hoo for Naruto.
One Piece has a better story at times (although it's not some pulitzer/oscar worthy story by any stretch) but from what I've seen (only up to episode 70 something) the fights are never animated anywhere near as good as Naruto and Bleach. I think that will keep it down for a while. Plus it looks goofier which may be a turn off to many.
This isn't Crunchyroll where Naruto is far and away the most popular show and competes with a bunch of stuff that people have never heard of or shows that have zero chance of have little to no market in the US. This is Hulu where the competition includes: - Lost - 24 - Heroes - Fringe - House - The Office - Family Guy - The Simpsons - Saturday Night Live - Glee - Bones etc... It's an anime show that's competing against some of the most popular shows in the US and beat all but 4 of them. It's be like some manga being the #5 selling book in the US. Not the #5 selling comic book, but the #5 for books in general. That's something to at least mention on a news site dedicated to anime. |

Except not really. And lol at the One Piece fans who are saying this is not really news worthy. This is the biggest news any fandom would wish for. Sorry to burst your bubbles but One Piece will probably never reach half of what Naruto has accomplished worldwide. Naruto is a phenomenon that will last for generations. |

Hahahah. While I'll gladly state that Naruto and Bleach are both overwhelmingly more popular in the US & Canada than One Piece, on a "worldwide" scale One Piece is the easy victor. That said, good to see anime performing so well with legal streams. |

One Piece has sold more manga volumes than Dragon Ball. And in Japan, it sold more than twice as many as Naruto did this year. Of course, we don't have real figures for how much America affects the numbers, or the overall franchise cash flows.
Isn't Viz supposed to be accelerating One Piece's release schedule in 2010? |

lol... Right... One Piece is by far the most popular in Japan, and I'm not 100% sure that Naruto is the victor in every other place either. But this isn't about me thinking One Piece is better than Naruto, it's merely wondering how this became news. I thought Naruto was always really popular on Hulu. I thought it was just assumed it would be towards the top. |

This really isn't surprising at all. Good for you, Kishimoto-san. One Piece may be leagues more popular than Naruto and Bleach, however, in no parallel dimension is it better than Naruto or even Bleach, for that matter. They all suck compared to DB/Z/GT, anyway
Happy New Years, guys!!! |

well if you think about it, shippuden has like the 3rd most amount of eps of all the anime on Hulu. so if this based on views for the show, even if less people watch than say Nana, since they watched waaay more eps it adds to more views. I'm not saying its the sole reason but it helps. Fyi the series' w/ more eps on Hulu aren't on-going. I'm counting inuyasha and the final act as separate things.

One Piece will never be as popular than Naruto in the states for the mere fact that the fights don't come off as nearly visually impressive or creative than what's shown in Naruto. Then there's the art style, which is usually a miss for the majority of Western audiences. I also think the fascination with a foreign concept (Ninjas) is more appealing as well.
I enjoy them both greatly and Oda has a great story structure going on with One Piece. There's always a sense of progression with what's going on every week. He establishes a important plot or scenario which doesn't cover until hundreds of chapters later. Basically with the current chapters, a lot of it has to do with what's long been happening in the sidelines in earlier chapters while Luffy and Co. were on their adventures. Not to mention some surprising recurring characters and how we haven't even gotten to other important details that have long been known. Kishimoto tends to slightly allude in his story as well, but for the most part, there's a centralization of tough questions being put on the main characters that haven't really been answered yet. It comes across as being overly moody, but that's Naruto for the most part. I enjoy reading it, but it doesn't come across as nearly exciting. The fights are great and Madara's easily my favorite character now. There's some mystery going on there and the coming chapters should be great with what's Madara's established. Bleach, for me, is easily the weakest. The Espada arc has gone on for way too long for its own good. Are they still in Hueco Mundo? Or was it Karakura Town? In any case, I'm happy for Naruto's success. It's hardly surprising. |

This is surprising, since THAT many Hulu-ers watch Naruto.
Now if Funimation could get its act together. Viz is doing its part with the manga. |

one piace and naruto are in two totally different leagues one piece is almost always pure and joyous entertainment, while naruto is unique phenomenon with being the only darker deadly manga that ever reached such huge status... it will become #2 best selling ever in Japan in two years after one piece... and it is #1 manga in the world in this decade... this is not to say that one is better than the other... those are just different and can not be compared... one piece is perfectly fine as absolute entertainment and naruto is perfectly fine with the drama... (bleach, of course, is even out of consideration because it has one of the lowest and dumbest story lines ever "girl got kidnapped, friends go to save her" and then again the same "girl got kidnapped, friends go to save her" among many other problems with the manga... drawings in manga, however, probably the most elegant of all ever...) as anime (not manga) one piece is indeed overall much better than naruto or bleach... both naruto and bleach had too much fillers and quality of animation there often is lame... one piece was never to be even anything near as popular as naruto in worldwide scale since the pirate thing concept and the drawing style are too much outdated, old-fashioned... and this is objective, the visuals are too much clone of 1960s-1970s work of earlier mangakas... |

Wow just wow... People are saying One Piece fights are not Animated good wow man........ And One Piece is kicking Naruto's ass around the world except for America and all I can do is blame 4kids. FUNimation can still save it but it fells like they don't give a damn. They need to find a way to get it on adult swim starting after they beat Enel, 2 episodes a week and hype it up like do that crappy Soul Eater Anime.
