Congratulations to all the winners!
I hope somebody picks up Vinland Saga for a US license soon. I would pay serious money to have that on my shelves in English.

Vinland Saga, Hyougemono and Children of the Sea are all current big-time favorites of mine, so I am feeling pretty good about these awards.
I really should pick up that Imuri series. It's one of those series that despite the love it receives from fairly trustworthy sources, I always end up passing it over for something else in the bookstore.

Ah yes, Vinland Saga, this was well-deserved. I agree utterly that this needs a license in English.
Summer Wars winning should please Justin. I'm pretty eager to see that one, too.

Wow, 'Summer Wars' won grand prize. I'm also impressed that 'Tokyo Magnitude 8.0' got an award as well. I have to finish that series. And of course 'Dennou Coil' always of mention. I didn't realized that 'Vinland Saga' was so honored.
Congrats. Now can we bring over some of that good stuff.

Good for Summer Wars, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, and Children of the Sea!
I hope Summer Wars gets picked up because it's such an amazing movie. I'm also quite happy that Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 received an award, because that series was just breathtaking and you could see how much time and effort they spent researching on the events and possibilities.

Would be amazing to see all three on the bookshelves of Borders.
Nice to see Summer Wars gain further prestige, as well.

Vinland Saga did indeed deserve this. I hope two things for it: It gets licensed (C'mon VIZ!....I take that back. Vertical will give us the best possible release) and that it becomes an anime. It shocks me that no one has picked it up and made a show worthy of Thorfinn's exploits.

I liked this film, I really did, I was even able to forgive its similarities to the Digimon work that inspired it, right up until that bit of gratuitous political commentary at the end.
It's presence was almost a footnote, but still enough to make me liken the film to newer Lupin III works.
I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come from Mamoru Hosoda, great directors have been ruined by outspoken beliefs in the past, and this might be a sign of him becoming more bold as his body of works grows in number and notability.
I really have liked his other works, be a pity if this detail somehow comes to define him.
