I've only seen the subbed.

but try watching it dubbed and form your own opinion about it. You have nothing to lose save a few hours since you already own it now.

I can actually stand to watch this dub job, as it is really not all that bad. Even though subbed it is better, this is one of those few times were I felt that a lot of the meaning of the series was not lost through the dub. That's what I think anyways Wink

The dub burned my ears with the horrible acting and the Director's Cut burned my ears in terms of the damage done to Iwasaki's masterful film score.

That said, I'm more for the sub and Original Cut.

The dub is reasonable and done alright. But I would say that the sub is far better then the dub and it is probable better just to keep watching it in sub. Yet I am a bit basis when it comes to sub or dub because I favour subs over dubs. But if you have the time to waste then go for watching the dubbed and form your own opinions on the topic.

I don't really like the dub. I would recommend just watching the sub.

I prefer the subbed version. This is my favorite piece of Japanese animation ever from my favorite anime franchise. If anyone's going to dub it (the OAV) or the TV series , they'd better be PERFECT...

...They both failed...

The name itself, "Samurai X: Trust & Betrayl" is bastardizing enough. I wouldn't say the dub was too bad, but out of the 3 times I've seen it, I've only seen it once in English, so I don't remember whether it was total crap or not.

I hate the TV series dub, and if I could remember, I would probably hate the OAV's dub equally (never could stand ADV dubbing in the first place...).

And as you can see here:

anime#210

more people prefer it subbed.

Oh come on now, Nagisa. It wasn't that bad. I liked the dub and I liked the Director's Cut, too. :p

Well Liann, it just goes to show that there is no accounting for taste. Razz

Anyway, I found the english dub to be rather flat at best. This may be in part that the actors couldn't be properly settled in their roles though. Considering the Japanese seiyuu were consistent, I'm sure that made a difference at the very least.

The sub is far superior than the dub. Watch the English version of the original cut with the subs on and you'll see what I mean. Some lines just don't flow as well also speach is added when no speech was in the original During the very first scene of the first episode. The Dub is garbage especially Kenshin's voice actor. Original Subbed all the way!!!!!!!!!!

i've watched the Dub, and I have to admit that it is not all that bad actually I think it's pretty good but still the sub is way better. If anyone where to see this for the first time I recomend them watching the sub to know whats supposed to happen because there are a few lines that are messed up in the dub. but after watching this Ova/movie for the 4th time I must say that it is the finest piece of animation i have ever seen and nothing can even come close to it simply great and moving.

Speech is 1/2 the anime. If you dub it, you lose that 1/2.

The anime makers chose the voices, and they should be left as is. And if you're too lazy to read subs, then you don't appreciate anime.

Wow just wow...*must resist urge to open up sub vs. dub debate....*

I'm sad that I obviously don't appreciate anime, though. My life has no meaning now.
