I hate to not give anything a shot before dismissing it, but I've lost my Animerica subscription (kinda), my Newtype USA subscription, and my Shojo Beat subscription. I'm through taking a shot on anime related magazines.

I was very disappointed when Shojo Beat was discontinued, so I'm interested in seeing how this magazine turns out and how well it will do.

Me too, hopefully ShojoBerry manages to get started and does not end up like Piq (the successor to Newtype USA). After reading the interview, the company seems to have some supporters. Out of pure curiousity, what is the name of the company producing this magazine? What is a Fanzine anyway? (sorry for sounding ignorant) Anime catgrin + sweatdrop

Where will this magazine get material to run? Viz had their own, of course.

And how will they run it? Shoujo Beat was in the habit of dropping not only unpopular series, like Kaze Hikaru, but popular ones like Nana, making the magazine an advertising arm of Viz's graphic novel line. The series they ran also got less diverse as time went on, dropping things like Baby & Me for nothing but fairly typical romance series.

I think we should do everything we can to support this magazine; the only way things like this can succeed is if we, the fans, make it succeed. I for one am going to purchase to first issue at least and judge from there.
