What anime have you ever or are currently losing interest in.
I have lost interest in Bleach after seeing the recent manga chapter it seems that most of the arcs are going to end with Ichigo making a grand entrance to save the day. I know it's shonen but I've seen others do different in the past, and I thought Bleach might add something new, sadly I was wrong. |

I lost interest in Dokuro-chan anime. As much as I love the humor and the Japanese VA (since there isn't an English dub), I find having an angel beating up a high school boy in a near daily basis too repetitive (much like killing Kenny in nearly every episode).

I have lost interest in Bleach as well. I used to enjoy my weekly dose but it got to where I was forcing myself through yet another ho-hum filler arc or another battle where Rukia is injured yet AGAIN. Even for shonen the show is subpar.

First (and only) thing that comes to mind is Bleach. I really enjoyed bleach early on but it slowly but surely got worse. So much "dead time" where nothing happens and the same fight patterns in almost all fights where first Character A gets beaten up by Character B but then he uses his "secret power" to turn the match and then Character B uses his secret power to turn the battle again and it just goes on and on and on. The occassional fillers does not help.

Well, my lazy answer would be "most long running series", but I'd like to clarify on that one too.
Bleach here as well, I quit around 150 after they had one too many random junky filler episodes. The best thing that came out of those episodes was that someone made an AMV to cooking by the book for the one involving the baker's ghost, which I thought was hilarious (and also ripping of Kekkaishi a bit much). Pokemon is another easy candidate here, a lot of people lost interest sometime after either the Indigo League or the Orange Islands. Now, it's been over 10 years, but I've never once lost interest in the games themselves (you can bet I'm getting Heart Gold or Soul Silver and if they ever make another Snap game or a Colosseum or  like game on Wii I'd get those too), so I really could be called a massive Pokemon nerd, but when it comes to the anime...well, it's kind of the same thing every episode and it becomes less charming with time to see Team Rocket do something stupid every episode and see Ash just squeeze by victories with his horribly underleveled teams to get badges (attack the horn, Pikachu! Never mind that it is a ground type and it will never work!). So, if it's on Cartoon Network and nothing better is on, I might sit through an ep here or there, sometimes the movies if they air those, but I kinda avoid the show now.
Last season, I pretty much watched Basquash! faithfully every week during spring semester at the dorm, but when summer occurred, I couldn't be bothered to go onto the internets, so I stopped after episode 15. Now that it's all done, I'm considering going back and watching it, but I'm also sorta in the middle of other series too right now. |

Maybe y'all should take a break on Bleach for awhile. I really like it, but shows like that, that are very long running, you have to only watch some, take a break, watch again, take a break, or else it does get tedious. This has happened with many long-running series, especially when they do tend to have fillers, but trust me, a break may be all that is needed, and I recommend it.
Some of the anime I have lost interest in are Pilot Candidate, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z. I'm starting to lose interest in Beyblade and Detective Conan. Now that I think about it, Pilot Candidate was not that great to begin with, I only watched it because it was one of the few anime that was on TV. Yu-Gi-Oh, I had really liked at one time, but it's too long to sit through, and with the four part episode card battles, it's easy to see why one would give up on this one. Pokemon was good util after Misty left. After that, Pokemon went downhill. Sailor Moon was no longer available, and I wasn't gonna spend time and money going after it, plus there are better anime that are still available. Dragon Ball Z is way too long and drags on with the battles. Currently, I'm think I am losing interest in Beyblade. You're probably wondering why I even liked it in the first place. At the time, I thought it was good, but you know how those game-based anime go. Plus, I recently saw Cowboy Bebop and Trigun again, two excellant anime, and since then, I've had second thoughts on lower ranked anime. It may seem odd, but I think depending on anime one loves, it can determine what other anime are worthy of being in a collection. And as for Detective Conan, it's getting too long. I can only hope Bleach doesn't go on too long. Then it will be overwhelming. |

Naruto and Bleach for the same reason. They have both gone on far too long, even for long running shounen series. Both are just annoying and bland and have lost any charm they once had.

Detective Conan is one series I'm unable to finish. Although a good series its just too episodic for me after seeing about 200 episodes I just gave up because I didn't see a resolution coming to the main story line.
For shorter length series I'd say Lamune. I struggled to press play after the 2nd episode and finally dropped it on the fifth because it made me puke, I can't even discuss it without turning green... On the subject of Bleach I wholeheartedly agree but I feel like it would be a shame to drop it now after so many episodes, I'm just grunting through the fillers and hoping it ends soon. |

Maybe they should stop with the fillers, redundancy, and nonsensical time skips. It's hard to care about a show whose creators don't care enough to make it make sense. Legend of the Galactic Heroes (100+), Monster (74), and Fullmetal Alchemist (50+) are all very long, and I've never heard of anyone losing interest in them. It's about how you tell your story and what's in it, and Bleach simply does not cut it at this point. |

Inuyasha and Ghost in the Shell for me. Both for the same reason...I was trying to keep up with them when they were airing on [adult swim], and I realized that I was bored and didn't care what was going on in either show. So, I just quit watching them.

In Bleach's defense, right before they started the current filler they came very close to catching up with the source material (manga obviously). So it's not too surprising that they they decided it was time for a filler arc...
Anyhow I'm another one of those exhausted fans, Bleach was really amazing during the first major arc, but I think it's steadily declined for me and after a point I just got bored. |

No, I think that if an Anime catches up to the Manga, then it should just stop being animated it until the Manga gets ahead. Having filler arcs is a waste of time for everyone who isn't a die-hard fan; they bloat up the episode count and never introduce any new material pertinent to the actual plot or main characters. Eventually, even the die-hard fans get tired and burnt out. And then there is the creative team, who also must suffer as well from doing the same show week in week out for years. Filler episodes usually equals bad; filler arcs always equals crap. Everyone suffers, except those making and selling the merchandising. |

For me, it was Initial D. I got to see it when I was in my university's anime club, and I was the secretary at the time. Part of the job description was to type up episode summaries for people who couldn't make it, so that's what I did.
We watched it subbed, and because I was typing as it was playing, I missed a lot of the dialog. I got a bit frustrated, because if I couldn't understand what was going on or what they were talking about (especially the more technical side of things), I couldn't explain it to the people who didn't see it. I quickly lost interest, but I had to continue watching it, because it was my job to do the summaries. It just got too predictable, and I didn't really like most of the characters. We watched the first two seasons and the movie (we watched that in fan subs). I much preferred the movie over the series, although that isn't saying a lot. I don't think the series is really that awful, but I just did not personally enjoy it very much. |

The Galaxy Angel franchise is one of mine. I initially thought it was fun fodder, but oh boy is it a prime example of "too much of a good thing." Well, maybe "entertaining" would suffice more than "good." Over the course of 2 and half seasons of plot less silliness I began to laugh less and less until I asked myself, "why am I still watching this?" And when I found that I could not answer that question, I ended up abandoning it.
Oh, and I second the mentioning of all those Shonen Jump titles. The first (and most notable) being Dragonball Z: The Frieza battle dragged on for so long that I ended up not caring what happened next. And I hear the Cell saga wasn't much different... |
