Animation doesn't look spectacular, so I hope cast is not the only strong point of Fairy Tail. |

No kidding, nice casting. The animation reminded me of the original FMA, not bad. Certainly a potential winner.

Did you watch the same promo I did? The animation looks terrific. The cast is star studded as well. Looks like they are going all out with this. |

The animation looks superb, but Natsu's voice seems way off to me. He should sound more like Luffy IMO, or maybe that's what they're trying to prevent.
I'll be checking it out when it comes out either way. |

Natsu is not Luffy.  I've never had Mayumi Tanaka or Collen Clinkenbeard in mind while reading the manga. In fact, I think he sounds perfect. I've always had a more masculine, hotblooded voice in my head.

I didn't like the animation either. The characters look flat (especially Erza) compared to their manga counterparts.

Why is the protagonist so alike Luffy from One Piece? I've been pondering over that since I watched the trailer at CR. I really hope I'm wrong.

the animation appears either dated or heavily watered down for a long and grueling, never ending and prone to filler shounen show existence. gotta stretch that budget, after all... either way, the manga is more than fine for me.

Nice, this looks really good. I like Natsu's and Happy's voices, but Hirano Aya as Lucy? It doesn't really fit, imo... oh well, it's not horrible and it won't make the show unwatchable.

Well, with all that sliding of image units one can use "terrific" only in a negative meaning. I am really disappointed from what I've seen in the trailer. You would expect much more from the studio that brought us well animated stuff like Kannagi or mind blowing animation like in Birdy Decode second season. |
