I randomly decided to pick up volume one of this series, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The series is great for a laugh and packed with action. It's really quite fun, aside from the nudity of one of the female characters near the end for no appearant reason (clearly writen in for the straight guy crowd, who I'm assuming would be naturally drawn to this book...
 ).
Looking forward to buying Volume two when I have the time; I just thought I would share and see what other people think of this series.... |

Flame of Recca is an awesome manga. I dowloaded the entire thing before Viz Licensed it. I'm looking forward to getting the Viz Graphic novels of the series. However at 33 volumes long it will be a long time before it is complete and I hope they do some box sets of the manga so I can buy those.

It'll take about 4-5 years for FoR to be completely released I assume. I got the three volumes released so far, and I love it. I got up to volume 17 on my PC. I cant wait to own the whole series a few years down the road!
I might be needing a bigger bookshelf... |

We're not getting it anymore. The distributors take it offline when it gets licensed. I've read the whole series at it's awesome. Some people consider Volume 1-3 wimpy compared to the rest of the series. It's gonna get better....tons better... This was the first fight manga I've ever read. It's not a good thing to read the best there is at first.  It makes all the rest look bad!

I've got until book 5, i think book 6 is comin out too!!
the cencorboardship here censors the nudity part so its makes it un-original ,heh BTW about the fighting comics you were saying,molloaggie, i know some other manga which is fighting, for instance katsu,getbackers,rockmanX,and,ushio and tora(im just introducing these mangas to you) |

I've thought about getting this manga so many times, but I heard that the anime was just some long tournament and wasn't all that great, so I decided not to pick it up, but the way you guys are talking, I might just have to reconsider this. Maybe the manga is better than the anime or something, I'll get the first volume and find out.

The anime's not as good as the manga, IMHO. The manga's really awesome and the characters have well defined and wonderful personalities. Having a long tournament saga is nothing new to action manga...arguably the same could be said about Yu Yu Hakusho.
