I have been thinking a lot about Dragonball Z lately. This is mostly due to the "Dragonball: Evolution" movie coming soon, even though most early reviews say that it's not good. This was not the very first anime I ever watched, but it was my favorite for a long time. I decide to count down my favorite moments, and also see what other people remember fondly about the series.

That way people who don't want to be spoiled can avoid the thread entirely. Edited thread title because you're going for "all-spoiler" posts.~Zalis] 5. Ginyu/Goku body swap. One of the most tense moments for me during the Namek saga was Captain Ginyu switching bodies with Goku. It had great character moments and the the fact that the gang had to fight an evil Goku very engaging. 4. Kurillin reasons with the andriods. This was my favorite moment with Kurillin in the series. After seeing his allies decimated by Andriods 16, 17, and 18, he decides the only thing he could really contribute was a voice of reason. While some may find this as an act of cowardice, I believe the cowardly thing to do would be to hide and not do anything; Kurillin at least tried. Though his pleads fell on death ears, he received something unexpected: a kiss from Andriod 18, something that would effect his life throughout the course of the series. 3. The Death of Vegeta Usually a cold hearted bastard who cares for no one but himself, Vegeta, for the first and only time in the series, opened up like never before when he lay dying at the hands of Frieza. He told Goku his life story, and when he took his final breath, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. This sequence had great animation and voice acting. It remains to this day the only animated scene that brought me to tears. 2. Gohan defeats Perfect Cell After reaching Super Saiyan level 2, and seeing is father sacrifice himself, Gohan defeated Cell with a one-handed Kamehameha Wave. It was a bitter sweet triumph for a character who watched grow from boy to man throughout the course of the series. 1. Goku returns! (Again and again!) Goku is my favorite character in this series, and every story arc, I know things shift into high gear when Goku finally arrives at the battle. Even though Goku constantly being incapaciteted and returning at the last minute seems repetitive, I enjoyed the fact he was a driving force for almost every battle he has been in. If the movies can keep that spirit alive, I am all for it. |

Okay, my favorite moments are
5) Vegeta vs Goku This one occurs late in the battle, Goku is beaten to a pulp, Gohan is beaten to a pulp for trying to help his dad. They are reaching for each other trying to touch each other's hands and your expecting such a tender moment when all of a sudden Vegeta comes crashing down on Goku's chest completely ruining the moment then he says " Being a good villain is like being a good photographer, you just have to pick the right moments." Oh delightfully evil and completely sadistic at the same time. 4)Zarbon vs Vegeta This one occurs just after Vegeta has his first battle with Zarbon. Vegeta flies to where Krillin, Gohan, and Bulma are hiding when Zarbon confronts Vegeta, during the battle Bulma goes completely over-board crushing on Zarbon when all of a sudden Zarbon transforms into his "lizard" form and Bulma freaks "What happened to my handsome prince!!" Oh this moment kills me every time.... 3)Vegeta vs Ginyu the Frog This one occurs after all the body switching is done and Ginyu gets stuck as a frog this is just a series of jokes between Goku and Vegeta. Goku tells Vegeta what happened to Ginyu and Vegeta starts chasing the Ginyu Toad going "hop-a-long little froggy" and Goku says probably one of the best jokes in the series, "Well at least Vegeta finally has an opponent his own size." This one's just too much... 2)Losers Fight First This whole episode is just full of ridiculous moments, from the stupid tag team and Hurcule intros to Hurcule being SMACKED into a cliff... this whole episode is just ridiculous... 1)Goku, Vegeta and their sons vs The Buffet During the World Tournement Arc, Goku, Vageta and their sons are sitting around eating like out of control machines when Krillin says" You could lose a hand in there." You could practically hear every person on Earth, who was watching that moment go "YEAH!" |

In no particular order.
1) When both Goku and Piccolo attempt to get a drivers license, and end up getting it only because the instructers were afraide they would come again. 2) When Goku is preparing for the Cell games mostly by relaxing and staying super saiyan, some villains try to trick him and every single one of their defences are easily bypassed influding hideing somehwere he wouldn't find them. 3) When Goku is in the finals of the tournament and is going to fight pikkon, noting the similarities to Piccolo and the fight was also awesome. 4) When Gohan gets the Saiyaman outfit that both Gohan and Bulma think is good though not everyone thinks it is as good. 5) One of the various times that the other super saiyans discover that both Goten and Trunks achived super saiyan at a very young age. Such as Vegita saying that it had a child's plaything. |

Best moment in the whole series is when Krillian, Gohan, Piccolo, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu arrive to make their stand against the Saiyans; Vegeta and Nappa
You just know these guys don't have a prayer, but they come anyway, just to buy the world the time it needs for Goku to return. No other single moment comes close. |

Just offering a friendly reminder after reading some of the replies on here, please at least make an effort to explain why you like these moments, don't just list them off. It helps keep discussion on the forums lively and engaging.

Ditto. For instance, I just deleted a couple of posts that had pointless listing. Yes, kids. Even DBZ can be discussed thoroughly in detail, so don't list a bunch of one-liners. |
