Hello! I have been watching a little anime that goes by the name of Maria+Holic (a fantastic yuri btw) anyway, I have noticed that the protaganist of this anime has more nose bleeds then any other anime charactor I know...wich is pretty impressive, so I was wundering!! has she beaten the nose bleed record, or is there another anime with twice as many nose bleeds by a single charactor. (random post yay!!!)

I think that Maria Holic probably has the most I have seen. But if you want to see another with quite powerful nosebleeds maybe try Karin.

Which is kind of ironic because the nose bleed gag is typified mainly by male characters in a show that get a sudden panty shot or breast shot. These two shows push the envelope even further by repeatedly having the main character get nosebleeds, even though that character is female. I'm trying to think of an anime that actually features a guy getting nosebleeds often and I can't think of any off hand. Some that I think have at least a few nosebleed scenes are, Yumeria, Tenchi Muyo!, Hanaukyo Maid Army, Mahoromatic and If I See You in my Dreams. |

Ikuto of Nagasarate Airantou is one of the most prolific nosebleeders in anime. In his case, he ends up stranded on a desert island that is populated only by women (mostly girls his age). Due to the lack of men they are not particularly inhibited in their daily routines, either, so at least once per episode Ikuto is crumpling to the ground due to loss of blood via his nose.
There are many examples here, including a picture of one of Ikuto's "outbursts". |

That was true a while back, but it's no longer the case. Nosebleeds have bridged the gender gap, and are (I would estimate) more or less gender-neutral in terms of statistical occurrence. - abunai |
