Definitely a must-get for the sheet music. Hopefully the sheet music is 100+ pages of the book, and not just like one or two songs.

HA! I was right - I remember when Azusa was introduced and they added her guitar into Cagayake! Girls, I said to my friend "Aw, what a smart marketing move - I bet they'll release another CD with Azusa-added-versions" He didn't believe and said "Come on, you can't be serious!" ::grins:: the pleasure..

The various karaoke versions are a huge plus though and another good marketing idea - the cover-scene on youtube has already gone K-ON! crazy even without sheet music and guitar-off-karaoke-versions - this is like throwing a bomb into a burning fire. Now I can't wait for this *_*

Actually, this seems all ultimately planned out now that I see the whole scope:

1. compose simple guitar-parts ideal for beginner players
2. make them hugely popular through a moe-music-anime
3. release CDs with sheet music and special karaoke
---you-know-what's-comming---
4. ?????
5. PROFIT!!!

Ignoring your literary reference, I would say that step 4 is licensing out to Japanese instrument manufacturers. There must be money to be made in K-On-branded guitars, basses, drums, and keyboards.

"Fuwafuwa Jikan"

Wouldn't this song be called "Fuwafuwa Time" or "Fuwafuwa Taimu"? The album cover says "時間" (Jikan) with furigana above it, "タイム".

And, er, what exactly is the difference between the versions of Cagayake! GIRLS and Don't say Lazy after Azunya was added? I never could tell the difference in the music...

You should have seem my awkward blush after reading "literary reference" I had a sudden realisation that on my way to building up a positive repution on ANN it may not be the "coolest" idea to refer to meme, let alone outdated ones, haha Anime hyper Let's say it's referencing the original Simpsons episode ::nods::

And yes, your Step 4 is the perfect idea most likely.
